For a bit of self-care, I decided to go out for brunch & then check out this little bookstore, Birdie Books. Unfortunately, I forgot what happens to my stomach when I've been stressed. Brunch was a little too rich, though 100% delicious, & I was about halfway through this very cute & eclectic bookstore when I had to quickly pay for my books (including the tagged book) & leave 🤢 Maybe I'll go back next weekend.

Ok I‘m wary of sharing this because I don‘t really know what I‘m doing yet lol, but did a tarot reading this morning and drew the 10 of wands. This is what I got out of it.

Overburdened, burnt
out — take a step back, ask for
help when you need it.

It‘s so easy to get caught in the trap of thinking we don‘t need to ask for help and can do everything on our own. 🩵

lil1inblue 1. Love the haiku. 💓💓💓 It's a reminder I need often! 2. IMHO, there is no wrong way to read the card. It's all about how it shows up in your life at the moment. That's different for everyone and can be different for you each time you pull it depending on what's going on. 1mo

JenlovesJT47 @lil1inblue thank you for this! I did a reading last night as well after I finished reading the book and was honestly blown away by the card I drew and how it was spot on with the question I asked. So I‘m all in! Thanks for introducing me to it, I‘ve had that tarot set for at least 5 years, it‘s about time I put it to use! ♥️ 1mo
lil1inblue @JenlovesJT47 I love that! 💓 That's why I love using it with journaling! It really gets the thoguhts flowing! 🩵 1mo

GingerAntics Or that we can‘t all and must do everything in our own. There is a real catch 22 for neurodivergent folks. 1mo

& @lil1inblue I agree too ☺️👍🏼💝

AmyG I, too, am not one to ask for help. It‘s not always easy. And I find the tarot so amazing as so many times it‘s spot on. Blows my mind. Wishing you well. 1mo
JenlovesJT47 @GingerAntics very true, a real conundrum! 1mo
JenlovesJT47 @AmyG thank you! I‘m very excited about it! 🤗♥️♥️♥️ 1mo

julieclair I love this! Asking for help is so hard. We feel like it demonstrates failure, when in fact it demonstrates wisdom. 💝 1mo
dabbe The words in this one actually makes you pause when you read it out loud. 🩵💙🩵 1mo

Reading via Amazon Prime subscription. There are lots of neurodivergent people in the family including my two young people. One seems sensory seeking and the other is avoidant and their sensory processing seems very easily overloaded.

The writing style on this is a bit clunky to me, but no matter as interested in what the author had to say.

I normally don't read self help books.
I find a lot of times that they can either be preachy or full of things I already know and not useful to me but this one was interesting to me.

I have a base idea of burnout and what that looks like for me but this book gave me some research and science that helped me know why I was feeling how I am and the wording and tools to help me understand how it happens.

TheBookHippie I liked this book and have the workbook for it as well. 8mo
mariaku21 @TheBookHippie there's a workbook? I'll have to look for it when I get my physical copy. Thank you! 8mo

Not as revelatory as I was hoping, but still provided a sound case for the need to address the stress as well as the stressor. I‘ve often wondered why I didn‘t feel the relief when a stressful situation passed…now I know why. And will be looking for my personal hows for reliably completing the stress cycle going forward.
