My hip is acting up again and I‘m pretty much bedridden for the night so I‘m taking the opportunity to do some summer studying and probably finish ‘Salem‘s Lot. All my writer littens....what books would you recommend I add to the collection? Most notably missing is my all time favorite On Writing. #writersoflitsy #studybreak #writing

PenguinInFlight On Writing is my favorite book EVER. 😍😍😍 2y
ErinSueMreads It totally blew my mind the first time I read it. I love how subtly he teaches so so much @PenguinInFlight 2y
ReadZenRites For mechanics, you can‘t go wrong with Elements of Style by Strunk & White 😊💕 2y

cobwebmoth Hope your hip feels better soon! 2y
ErinSueMreads @ReadZenRites ohhhh I‘ve got two different copies on my kindle. That was a go to for me all last semester. 2y
Alfoster @ReadZenRites Seriously! The best book ever!😍 2y
ReadZenRites 😊 Sounds like you‘ve got mechanics taken care of! Another for more content related writing is Sol Stein‘s On Writing. 2y
ErinSueMreads Oh that‘s a good call @ReadZenRites 2y
CSeydel Sorry to hear about your hip! Hope it improves. Have you read Anne Lamott‘s Bird by Bird? It‘s very good. Also The Courage to Write, by Ralph Keyes. 2y
ElishaLovesBooks That‘s so hard not to be able to move around! Feel better soon! 💙 2y
ErinSueMreads Thanks @ElishaLovesBooks ! It‘s been difficult. Some days I‘m totally fine and others like today I can‘t move at all. I have a fracture in my L5 vertebrae and it‘s awful. 2y
ErinSueMreads @CSeydel I haven‘t got either of those! I‘ll add them both to my list! 2y
PenguinInFlight @ReadZenRites I agree. King actually recommends it in his book, as well. 2y
ReadZenRites I‘ve just stacked King‘s book. How funny that he recommends Stein‘s book. Small world @PenguinInFlight 😊 2y
PenguinInFlight @ReadZenRites Elements of Style is the one her recommends. Sorry for the confusion, I didn‘t see your second comment! 💜 2y
TheEldritchProfessor I second @CSeydel‘s recommendation of Bird By Bird! Lamott has such an engaging voice as a writer. I‘ll also add to the live for King‘s beautiful book. @ErinSueG, I hope you feel better soon! 2y
ErinSueMreads I found a copy of on writing at the book sale today!!!! 2y

Magpiegem I totally get you! I‘m trying to read something from my counselling bookshelf every day but there are just so many other books!! I should really be reading about TA right now 😄 2y
Ddzmini @Magpiegem yea I have to get this done by Thursday 😝 2y

Quick study break while I enjoy a book for fun and not for uni! Such an important book, telling the rare stories of the North Korean people, smuggled out of the country by a dissident writer. I feel that the story of the author is just as fascinating and important as the stories contained within the book!
