Finishing this one..🛶🌤📚

Anna40 Do you like It? I loved Sense of an Ending and borrowed the only Julian Barnes they had in the library, Arthur & George but not too interested in the story... 1y
mgallo1968 @Anna40 This one has much more the feel of SENSE OF AN ENDING. Good, and complex and sad. I love his writing. SOAE for sure my favorite of his. (edited) 1y
Anna40 @mgallo1968 will get this one after reading my current book. The story of Arthur and George just didn't really interest me. ... 1y

Food: A Love Story | Jim Gaffigan

I live in Birmingham, Alabama- the heart of the Deep South. We do like our grits! “Grits. You can‘t really discuss Southern food without bringing up grits. When I reference grits during a stand-up show, Southerners will clap like I mentioned the college they attended or that I support the troops. Being southern means liking grits.” 🥣

Anna40 What are grits? 2y
mgallo1968 Grits are made of dried corn, hull and germ removed, and then ground like regular cornmeal. Then boiled. Cooked with water or milk. Good with cheddar cheese stirred in or melted butter, S & P. Breakfast staple in the South. Also with any other meal - shrimp and grits very popular. (edited) 2y
HeatherBookNerd I‘m southern and I think they are disgusting 😝 2y

cathysaid Check @LitsyHappenings . Find the different hashtags associated with buddy reads. Search those hashtags for details and/or hosts for the buddy reads. The hosts determine the format/schedules. For instance, I am participating in two: #LitsyBuddyRead is hosted by @jess7 and @mindea . We discuss questions posted. Another is #luminariesbuddyread hosted by @Ashley_Nicoletto and there's a schedule but we discuss throughout the week. Hope this helps! 2y
mgallo1968 Thanks! 2y
BibliophileMomma There are also many #buddyreads that pop up throughout Litsy. Basically it‘s group reads of a book that people read together and discuss through Litsy posts. Just starting a #yabuddyread to get through some of my YA books on my TBR. 2y

Intense short read. Intro by Jonathan Franzen - if you like Franzen then you will like this book. It is right up his alley. Franzen is a love/hate kind of author IMO and I loved FREEDOM and THE CORRECTIONS and this book has that kind of feel. Not for everyone maybe but I gave it 4/5.
