pickI finished this yesterday and I‘m still not entirely sure how I feel about it. I mean, I wish it had been a straightforward story of the narrator and Vivian, and I liked the beginning best, before we get into the encyclopedia (of a fictional, insane experimental tv show). But I also appreciated the study of grief and finding oneself. It‘s short, so if you‘re looking for a #transbook #queerbook, it‘s not a huge time investment. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I‘ve been on testosterone for a month now and I definitely struggle with the idea that although I‘m often uncomfortable and nervous around men, I might some day be perceived as one. I really haven‘t figured out how I feel about this and the thought-spirals are deep, but it sounds like this person had similar struggles and it‘ll be good to read it.

The psychological Trope that's always been played in Peter Pan is that Captain Hook is really the Darling father. Generally, the same actor will play both.
In this book there's a twist. Peter and Wendy are the same person. Wendy is a trans boy, who becomes a real boy through Peter. This is also a m/m romance.

pickThis book really got to me. I wasn‘t sure how it was going to end, but I thought the ending was really strong. I know that this will be a book that I‘ll remember for a very long time. I highly suggest reading the author‘s note located at the end of the book after you finish the story. It has some important information in it too. pickPeter Darling was utterly charming and wonderful. Basically a sequel to Peter Pan that‘s SUPER gay and satisfying.
I dug out another queer retelling of Peter Pan to follow it just because I‘m not ready to leave the world yet. Lost Boi is supposed to be a really gritty queer punk retelling so this might still be a 180 degree turn from Peter Darling but I‘m excited to read it any way.
