I this is a fun and dark read. Beautiful art. After MDay, the remaining mutants are called to consult with police. This leads to a disturbing discovery and to a wide spread, multi-verse story line. The little vignette comics at the end are disturbing but really interesting. Makes me sad I don‘t have the next tbp in the series. I want to know what happens! 3/5 stars, read if you like the 90s x-men and want a darker story.

Why am I discovering this comic now?!? This is something I should have been supporting back when it came out. Ah, well. Live and learn, yes?
Anyhoo, this series reminds me of Fringe (tho it predates fringe by quite a few years). Somewhat secret agency with a penchant for saving the world from the bad and sometimes weird. I could def see this as a tv show.

Shadowfat You had me at Fringe, what a great show! 4y

The Wild Storm Vol. 1 | Warren Ellis

In 2017 Warren Ellis did a complete reboot of the Wild Storm universe. It ran 24 issues and the last comic came out this past July. I've been waiting for it to finish so I could do a binge read of it all at once.

Its a spy/future-tech/political/corporate/espionage story that, really, only a writer like Warren Ellis can pull off and holy balls I'm loving it so far! 🤘

(it's also all on sale right now on ComiXology) 😉

pdever I like his comics. I was not such a fan of his novel 5y
GrilledCheeseSamurai @pdever I've heard of his novel...havent read it. Warren Ellis is hit or miss for me. Some of it I totally dig and others...not so much. 5y

Well written tale of mystery archeologist, Planetary, seeking to keep the world weird and wonderful. Ellis blends in his own takes on pulp heroes like Doc Savage, the monsters from Japanese movies, even his own version of the Fantastic Four. Witty and full of pop culture easter eggs. John Cassaday's art is amazing. 4 💥💥💥💥 out of 5.

Five eccentric geniuses battle a rogue artificial intelligence that they unleashed on the world. No, this isn‘t the Avengers - Age of Ultron: it‘s Injection. No spoilers, but the AI takes the form of Celtic / British myths and legends to control humanity, and it‘s picking up speed. Each of the five geniuses battles the AI in their own special way: hacker. Investigator. Special agent. Cunning man. Professor. All compelling. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

1001 people around the world work together to stop the bad guys from doing harm on a massive scale. Not Ellis‘ best, too many underdeveloped ideas. This would, however, make a great tv series.
