@keys_on_fire Exhibit A.

Maybe not the same guy, but close!

(Looks like I might but hopping aboard the #paperbackcrush train soon. I have a soft spot for these books, even if they are dreck 😆)

keys_on_fire Maybe!! I‘m sure they reused models A LOT! 😂 8mo
keys_on_fire Have you read PaperBack Crush? I‘ve read through so many that were mentioned but still have quite a few to go! (edited) 8mo
Sace @keys_on_fire I have! It was a while ago though and lately I‘ve been considering going back and rereading it. These books are comfort reads for me. (edited) 8mo

Sace @keys_on_fire and if you haven‘t read it yet I recommend 8mo
keys_on_fire I created a shelf on Goodreads for all the books (plus a few from series that I liked that I wanted to read all). If you ever want to try to read as many as possible like I am, I‘d be happy to become friends there too…assuming you use it as well. 8mo
keys_on_fire Maybe someday I‘ll get ambitious and creat a storygraph challenge! 8mo
Sace @keys_on_fire I‘m only on The StoryGraph and here but my summer vacation is starting soon and I‘d gladly join you in reading and sharing! 8mo

Another #paperbackcrush book and my #bookspin for April. I did not like this one. It was cringy all the way through. I remember being at odds with friends over boys, but this guy was a jerk! The only reason I finished it was because it was so short.

@TheAromaofBooks

Sace That dude looks like the guy on the cover of Superflirt too! 8mo
TheAromaofBooks At least it's off the list!! 8mo

Pickpick

After barely escaping a bush fire, Alison walks to the road to leave the area and finds a woman dead in her car in her driveway. A combination of exploration of trauma and mystery, this book takes its time unfolding in a way I felt really suited the story. It‘s dark and can be emotionally challenging, but really good.

CW for physically/sexually abusive relationship on the page

I had to bail about 35% in. It was just too stressful it‘s like reading a documentary about a recent catastrophic fire in an area not too far from my home. It‘s well-written and interesting, just too overwhelming for me to keep going.

THRILLER - MYSTERY

Escaping a raging Australian bush fire wasn‘t the only horrendous thing Allison had to endure in her life. Something else from her past was waiting.

When she felt it was safe to leave her home, she found a dead woman sitting in her driveway with Allison‘s address written on a slip of paper.

Allison has no idea who this woman is, but it is the address of where Allison used to live. 4/5

Ladies and gents,
I am working on decluttering my library.
I have a ton of books I would love to sell of to a good home. Some have been through #LMPBC and others are almost brand new, or barely used books.
Each book is $10 (Includes shipping). If interested check out this form https://forms.gle/kyUCAFyamFQz1Bcg6

Pickpick

Remarkable. Delicate balance of facts, sentiment and humour.
Unenviable first hand insight into an experience which is understood as unique to each individual, but becoming far too commonplace, that is, house destroyed by natural disaster fire. Such a touching rallying of human beings, community.
Inclusion of other people's lost home stories, also helps draw attention to how emergency response might be improved, in future.
Read Afterword!
