keys_on_fire I created a shelf on Goodreads for all the books (plus a few from series that I liked that I wanted to read all). If you ever want to try to read as many as possible like I am, I‘d be happy to become friends there too…assuming you use it as well. 6mo

Yup. Definitely works for #horrifiedreads. A plot point was Susan helping her friend Debbie lose weight. Because you know, girls don't have enough trouble with body image. The weight loss was practically equated with boys will like you. And really the writing was just so. damn. bland. I'm being very generous with my rating. I do seem to recall that this was not a favorite of mine even back then. (Why have I helped on to it?)

Melissa_J I just looked at the 80s list, and other than Sweet Valley High I've never heard of any of these books. It seems I missed out on some reading gold. 7y

Marchpane OMG this brings back memories! I have older sisters and read a lot of these way too young (I was maybe 7 or 8?). We had most of the Sweet Dreams and Wildfire ones 💕 7y

Christy2318 I was mostly reading my mom & neighbors' Harlequins but a few of those were book fair or Waldenbooks purchases. My favorite was I'm Christy. I had forgotten all about Sooner or Later. Very scandalous at the time. 😂🤣 7y

Sace @batsy I mean, I couldn't think of anything else. Pulling out these books for the photo challenge yesterday got me thinking about how crappy my reading tastes were then (and probably now as well.) It's not like these were the only books out there. 7y

Sace @mrp27 I've been surprised how many people remember these books. I seem to recall that only one other girl that I knew read them. She was the one who introduced me to them. Maybe no one else wanted to admit it. 7y
