This was a hard one for me...
Pros: It doesn‘t seem like it was written in the 40‘s, & the descriptions could be really vivid. It‘s a significant book, as it‘s considered one of the earliest “teen” books.
Cons: I had a hard time relating to the narrator, who hardly spoke throughout the book. I expected angst, but not sections where the boy love interest is talking to her but we rarely see her replies. Just odd.

Re-reading my SVH‘s as part of my #paperbackcrush challenge. This book was the first that had neither of the Wakefield sisters on the cover. It‘s main story is about Lila, Jessica Wakefield‘s best friend. The twins are definitely still very present in the story, along with all the stereotypes that SVH is known for. Mindless and nostalgic reading at its best! However, not one of my favs in the series...

Very quick chapter book for middle grade. I enjoyed Anastasia‘s voice and felt she was very real. She interacted with her family in such a way that they took her seriously, which doesn‘t often happen in books. I may have to read another in the series, even though I was just checking this off my #PaperbackCrush list!

Bookwormjillk I wanted her bedroom when I was a kid. 6mo

Easy YA read about a girl who goes to summer camp when her life is turned upside down from her father‘s remarriage. Brought back memories of going to church camp as a kid!

Read this because it was mentioned in #PaperbackCrush. The girls in this book make Jessica Wakefield look like a saint! 😂😂 While it was interesting to ‘get away‘ to a different style of living, I don‘t think I‘ll be reading any more of the series. Maybe I‘ll catch and episode of the show on Netflix next...

Picked up this book as one mentioned in #PaperbackCrush. Totally different genre and style from the halls of Sweet Valley High! While this book did have a plot, it felt more like a big setup for the rest of the series. Not sure if I‘m going to continue reading the rest or not. Reading this on Kindle, there were quite a few punctuation mistakes.

Starting this one tonight after reading #PaperbackCrush. I think it would be really neat to try and read at least one book from each series mentioned in that book.

Is the pinnacle of book obsession? Reading a book about books? 🤷‍♀️ #paperbackcrush
