First book of my #yearofmarvellousreading done and WHAT a book. It‘s an unbelievably creepy and atmospheric exploration of the way women have been hated and feared and the way that religious oppression and mob mentalities can be twisted against them. Alys is a fantastic main character and I was really rooting for her to win out despite everything being against her. Can not recommend enough!

My Year of Marvellous Reading

So I‘ve not been around here much this last year. I‘ve just started a Masters course and you might think the last thing I need is a new project. But now that I‘m doing a lot of more serious reading for uni I want to be able to read things that grab me straight away, and I want to document it here!
