Tales from Moominvalley
Tales from Moominvalley | Tove Jansson
20 posts | 20 read | 10 to read
Here are nine delightfully funny stories about the triumphs and tribulations of the citizens of Moominvalley. Readers will discover how the Moomin family save young Ninny from permanent invisibility, and what happens when Moomintroll catches the last dragon in the world. Some of the characters in these tales will be brand-new to Moomin fans, but there are lots of old friends to meet as well.

Husband brought me coffee in bed for some Sunday morning reading and instead of calmly reading some Moomins I caught up on twitter 🤦‍♀️

Came across this gem in a bookstore in SFO. Beautiful short stories ...
Which of the Moomin‘s book should I read next?

The last two Moomin books published today by Sort Of Books in their collector's series. Lovely hardback editions, with Jansson's illustrations of her stories. I'll have to try to fit in some Moomins for November.

LeahBergen They‘re lovely! 6y

So I've decided to start a bookstagram, with the help of my little buddy, Moomin.
I know it's going to be a slow start (what with my books being boxed up for the house move) but if any of you guys fancy giving Moomin a follow, I'd be really appreciative 💖
Find us on Instagram as @ pigsandpaperbacks 🐹📚

The book I read was actually called The Invisible Child and The Fir Tree, but it's not in Litsy.

Anyway, first read of 2018! I'm book slumping badly but wanted to put a book on my 2018 read list, so I opted for this short and cute children's book. My first time reading anything Moomin and it didn't disappoint, such adorable stories! Definitely a pick.

Practical with his paws, he loves his family and sailing but is forever seeking something just beyond the horizon until, finally, he comes to realise that he can be himself in the heart of his family.

Everyone should read Tove Jansson. If you ever read just one book by her, let it be this collection of short stories. One of those classics that never grows old and is as wonderful for a kid as for an adult, yet in a different way.

merelybookish @Clwojick She's the best! @AlaMich I know! I didn't discover the Moomins till I was an adult. They are for kids but not well-known in North America. 7y

Gorgeous little book from Waterstones/Oxfam to raise funds for Oxfam's invisible child campaign.

I have had a very good day today: I've treated myself to 2 books (The Moomins and Jeff Vandermeer ones) and my sister brought me the rest up when she visited. The treat was to celebrate my Preschool's Ofsted (school inspectors) report. We got Outstanding in all areas - which is about as rare as hens teeth! The relief!

batsy The Jansson cover! 😍 7y
Clare_Riley @batsy It's a book that Oxfam and Waterstones got together to raise money for women's issues - it was Qc.99, and all but 99p went to the charity! How could I not buy it (and I'm a little obsessed with Moomins, to be honest ?)? It's very cute ? 7y

Things are grim in the UK at present so I am retreating to Moominvalley where things are nicer!

MrBook #Bibliomedicine is the best medicine. And welcome to @Litsy ! I hope you enjoy your stay with us 😎👍🏻. 8y
