Lilac Girls: A Novel | Martha Hall Kelly

What an emotional experience! I so appreciate all the research the author did for this book and the way she made the characters come alive on page. It's the story of 3 young women during the Nazi invasion of Poland and France. It's also based on the real life story of Caroline Ferriday and the concentration camp survivors known as the Rabbits, who were used as guinea pigs for some of the most brutal experiments by the Nazi camp doctors.

This is described as a "dark, tense, psychological thriller". I have read mixed reviews, as you either love it or hate it. I personally loved it. I could not put this book down. I read it in 24 hours (2 sittings). It had everything I needed for a good read. I gave it ????/5 stars. ??⛲?????????

Another book out of my comfort zone. Well, I couldn't put it down! This book is laugh out loud funny. Basically a dark comedy... A very funny one. Most of the humor is in the beginning but there's never a dull moment from start to finish. It's about a disfigured girl, that is the town "freak", living in her dad's shed. She befriends a stranger from out of town that was peeking through her window. After that all hell breaks loose!

Quirky little book. Loved the characters and their silly ways. I even grew fond of the old house. Lots of room for dialogue and discussion. A bit Gothic. A bit psychological. A bit charming.

Mehso-so

I enjoyed the book for the most part. But there was something lacking. Can't quite pinpoint. Kept me guessing the whole time though, which I liked. In the beginning of the book I thought I would enjoy some of the characters more. But by the end there wasn't one character I liked. Not the feeling I like when I finish a book, however the story was well written...and I guess when murder is involved it's never a happy ending for anyone.

TheHungryBookworms I have this love hate with Rachel character..she is a little crazy....im at the beginning though..im really not seen me liking her much 7y
Books_and_Beans Lmk how you like the rest. 7y

I give it 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟/5!
I really felt attached to these characters and was sad when it ended. But what an ending! Really well written. I felt several different emotions throughout. Mainly because you kind of grow up with the main characters, The Chase Sisters. Several unexpected turns as well, which helped to keep this story quite intriguing. Highly recommend this author. Will be checking out some of Sarah Healey's other work for sure!

If you're looking for a great children's book this Summer, check this one out! I give it 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Really adorable story for accelerated readers. Love the illustrations too! It's about a lonely boy named Brian who loves to draw and just wants to be included. I actually teared up reading this book. This book shows the power of little kind acts going a long way. I will definitely be getting this book for my nephew!
