For Everyone | Jason Reynolds

The book will is short and so lushly written. I though about all of the deadlines we give ourselves that don‘t always pan out. It made me want to dive into the unknown potential trapped inside my own heart.

I really loved this book. It was a fascinating look inside of the White House and allowed readers to learn a little bit about flotus. I came away from this read loving the obamas heart for service and their commitment to kindness.

Mason Buttle is a kid that you just want to hug. His dyslexia and social awkwardness make him a target for bullies. He is further ostracized when his bed friend dies in his family‘s apple orchard. I loved this book and it‘s way of highlighting the humanity in differently abled people.

Starting this tonight. It was mentioned during a book review hosted by Christopher Purdy. Anyone already read this one?

An American Marriage | Tayari Jones
Mehso-so

Well I finished it. I know that it is a novel of flawed people. But the mean actions of some of the characters was a little hard to swallow. It cast a huge shadow for me over the other good parts of the novel(sweet love story, familial relationships, loyalties).

Chelleo Well written but I didn‘t like any of the main characters 6y

So I am about halfway through this story and it‘s slightly disturbing so far. Question: is it worth finishing?

cocomass I LOVED it but it definitely doesn‘t get less disturbing!! If the beginning isn‘t your cup of tea, I‘d bail. If you want to read something more palatable (but still real) from this author, I‘d recommend 6y

So I‘m in full reading fever. Just picked up my first book from the racial healing workshop I went to at the ALA conference. So far it‘s completely dope. More thoughts to come.

Chelleo That cover! 6y
