This HF book is written and illustrated beautifully by Mark Teague. It is a different take on the classic folk tale. This book would be perfect for story telling with a whole classroom. It would engage students through linking lessons through prior knowledge. It would also increase mastery feedback from reading the story out loud. Here‘s a website to his other books https://www.scholastic.com/teachers/authors/mark-teague/ #UCFlae3414su19

DrSpalding This would not be historical fiction. Look back at your genre flip guide and be sure you understand the characteristics of each genre. This is traditional literature and to be more specific a variant of a traditional tale. 5y
