I loved the images in this TL Caldecott award winner because they are so beautifully depicted. It‘s about the story of 3 children who find a panda bear in their background that tells the most amazing stories which could be a great RA. #UCFLAE3414SU19

BeverlyMel https://www.scholastic.com/content/dam/teachers/lesson-plans/migrated-featured-f.... UDL 2.1 talks about clarifying vocabulary. This vocab card activity can help students with that. You can also alternate the activity to cater to the language of the language learners in your class. (EL 24) 5y
DawnS I think this sounds like such a cute story!! Plus if the interior photos are anything like the cover then I am already in love 😍 5y

The Very Hungry Cater Pillar, a RF picture book written and illustrated by Eric Carle, would be a great story to use for AS. Eric Carle is very well known for his picture books and students should definitely be made aware of who he is! (Cont.) #ucflae3414su19

galacticbees (Cont.) UDL Strategy 5.1 and ESOL strategy 17 would work best with this resource:

This resource is awesome and helps you make this story so much more interactive for students. #ucflae3414su19

This RF by Bill Martin Jr is a great read for young children. This book is illustrated by Eric Carle. It‘s a informative piece of literature for kindergarteners all the way up to 2nd grade. All of Bill Martin Jr books and Eric Carles combination are a special treat. This would be a great RA for younger grades. https://billmartinjr.com/bill_martin #UCFLAE3414SU19

BeverlyMel https://pin.it/4chagezjr6zz6v. I loved this activity because it‘s kind of a brain teaser for students based on the book which helps activate the knowledge that they gained reading the story (UDL 3.1, EL 2) 5y

Whoever you are is a Caldecott award winner that talks about how even though we may be different on the outside we are all the same on the inside. This story could be used as an RA to help students to understand one another. #UCFLAE3414SU19

Falling up is a collection of P written by Shel Silverstein. I think my favorite thing about this is the simplicity of the drawings. Could be considered a great RA to share with students, a different poem each day. #UCFLAE3414SU19

BeverlyMel https://mrshallfabulousinfourth.blogspot.com/2013/02/paint-chip-poetry.html?m=1. This link is for an activity in which students can create their own poems using paint swatches. Students are able to able to customize the way they present their poems in an hands on activity (UDL 1.1, EL 46) 5y
Mary_Dehner Beverly- I love the paint chip poetry activity! I could see myself using this in a classroom for sure. I also love Shel Silverstein. Great post. #happyreading 5y
DezireeLara I LOVE SHEL SILVERSTEIN! I think I say this every time I see someone post one of this poems or books. I think the activity with the paint sample papers is adorable. Great connection to your UDL and ESOL strategy with the link! 5y

Stephanie5 This book is a HF and I would read in a LC. This book won‘t let you put it down as soon as you start. It‘s about Delphine and her two sisters which travel to California to meet the mother they haven‘t seen since they were small but the black panthers are in the house and her name is now Inzilla instead of Cecile will they get to actually meet her or will Cecile keep avoid her daughters. #ucflae3414su19 5y

Bwhitley222 Great UDL strategy. Very fitting for this book. Its important order to get students to see the relevance in their own lives and be interested in the content of the books they read. 5y
DawnS My teacher for the social studies class we need to take actually references this book too! I think a LC would be really interesting with the different roles for this book. 5y
DeannaP This sounds like a really good book! It looks like others agree! It has so many awards! Books you can‘t put down are the best! 5y
DMoux Book looks so interesting! Would love to use this as an LC one day in my class! 5y

This book would be a great book in the classroom to teach multiculturalism and have an open disscussion after to talk about who is from where and what there cultural is like. This book is NF and would read in the classroom as a SR would be a great opportunity to teach other students where they come from and how it is there. UDL 8.3 and ESOL 6 #ucflae3414su19

Kcompton2912 I love this book! This would be a fantastic book for multiculturalism. It would be great if you did a social studies unit and opened with this book and then dedicated a day to a culture for a week long unit! 5y
