Lovely book! Full review at OldTimeyBooks.com
Quite good but didn‘t quite meet my expectations. To be fair, they were very high, based on my love of Fowler‘s novel, Z.

Funny and infuriating. Great for fans of her podcast, Throwing Shade, or for angry feminists who are in the mood to get a little more pissed off.
I got about halfway through this book and there was no conflict. The writing was good but the character was just having a lovely time day in, day out. Womp, womp.
That was pretty intense. I hate that I didn‘t know about something so tragic that happened in my own country‘s history. Well-written, hard to put down and the audiobook performance was very good. 👍🏻
I never cry over books but I was damn close to crying last night. This book features something dark from Canada‘s past and I‘m ashamed I didn‘t know about it. #histfic
The first chapters and the end chapters are pretty serious but the middle chapters are delightfully funny. Lockwood, a poet, plays with language like a kitten plays with a ball of string. Her mother is hilarious while I found her father, the titular “priestdaddy,” incredibly frustrating and contradictory. But I suppose that‘s part of his charm.
Nothing like what I assumed it would be. Much darker but a pretty entertaining read. I‘m a sucker for historical fiction with rotating POVs. Frustrating at times, but the delicious descriptions make up for it.
Not recommended for those triggered by sexual assault.
