NF/The New York Times Best-Selling Series/LC/This series are great. Interesting facts, nice illustrations, and real photographs of the time. This book explains what the Great Depression was and how it happened. I would‘ve loved to have these types of books when I was growing up. Great series to have in a classroom. B/ AS/ This book is written in verse. The author tells a funny story about the author Pablo Neruda. He was a writer, poet, scholar, and ambassador. The story is written while the Pablo was serving as an ambassador in Sri Lanka and had a mongoose as a pet. The book is written in both Spanish and English and has colorful illustrations. Alexis-Thompson I love how this book is bilingual!! It‘s very rare that a classroom library has books in another language other than English. I feel like this encourages EL students as well. 5y

HF/LC/This is a short story about Anna and her parents visiting Ellis Island.Anna wasn‘t thrill about going to a museum but was surprised when they were able to track back their relatives from Russia.This would be a great book to use while learning about immigration or historic landmarks. B/ New York Times bestsellers/ LC/ We always hear about our founding fathers but not our founding mothers. Great book to give us an insight of what the wives of great men were up to. Some served as spies, some wrote political poems & plays, some ran farms. Abigail Adams was eager to improve the lives of American women. NF/ Notable Children's Books/ RA/ OMG! This a short story about a doctor who got lost in the mountains in Pakistan. The people at little village (Korphe little village in Baltistan, Pakistan) helped him and he stayed with them and taught the children and later helped them build a school! TL/Anne Izard Storytellers' Choice Award/ RA/ This book is about animal tales from the South. I like the variety of tales and how beautifully illustrated the book is. I particularly liked the tale of how the bear people lost fire. This particular tale is from the Native Americans from Alabama. TL/RA/This book tells short Christmas stories from around the world. Stories from Syria, Malta, Mexico, Ghana, and Russia. I really enjoyed learning a little bit more about these cultures. I‘ve always wondered what was the meaning behind putting a baby Jesus inside bread and thanks to this book I learned the story behind it. KDrake Believe it or not, I have never read a book from the Magic School Bus series, but I have seen a few episodes of the t.v. series. I know that many kids love these books and they usually are tied to real-life, scientific facts. These books are a great way for young kids to be introduced to different science concepts! 😊 5y

Ivanita08 I totally agree with Bianca!! I am not a big fan of Star Wars, except when I go to Hollywood Studios... but my cousins love Star Wars, actually their whole room is decorated about Star Wars. This is a must have in the classroom since many children would be very interested! 👍🏼 📚 5y
KDrake Any Star Wars book is going to naturally attract a lot of attention, especially from young boys! I like Star Wars myself. This would be a wise choice for a science fiction picture book in an elementary classroom. Good job! 5y
