Lots of books here I‘ve been meaning to read for a while. I started with Detransition, Baby. Very excited to have this paired down list to choose from this fall. Although, I did just start the Broken Earth trilogy— oops 😅 #fallreading #readinglist

I devoured this book- it was right up my alley. I totally understand the polarization around it however. It doesn‘t necessarily follow a clear story arc in the way most books do (I mean it does but probably to us who love it). But tbh it‘s high brow romance at its core. I also had a friend who said I reminded him of Marianne.. still debating if that a compliment or insult haha.

I‘m still not totally sure how I feel about this book. But in a good way I think? It was somehow a simple and beautiful little summer read but also a book with depth. The way the human characters interacted with Klara was v interesting. I mean it was also interesting to get the story from Klara‘s POV, it‘s hard not to love her.

I had a whole plan for what I was going to read this fall- then I picked up the 5th season. Excuse me while I ignore all my other books in order to finish this trilogy ASAP 👀

It‘s a mix of The Handmaid‘s Tale and The Hunger Games. I really enjoyed this read. It also surprisingly refreshing to have a stand-alone novel in the dystopian YA genre (even if I do always love a good trilogy).

I really enjoyed this book, I read it very quickly as I do with most things by octavia butler. But I do I understand if people are put off by this one as the main character physically looks like a child (even if she‘s not) and has a robust sex life throughout the novel.

Please help me if I‘m missing something! All I could think was this is like the novelization of a Quentin Tarantino movie- and that‘s not a compliment from me lol. I bailed about half way in. Am I missing something, is there a better book to start with by this author? #chuckpalahniuk #invisiblemonsters

Wow, I tried reading this last year- I haven‘t had such a strong reaction to a book in a while. I absolutely hated all the characters and the lens through which events were presented. Had to bail about a third of the way through. Anyone else?!
