There's mini-series potential here: Granuaile (Grace O'Malley), the pirate queen of Ireland. I'm loving this book so far! So many fascinating and badass women and I'm only 30 pages in. 😍💪

Vivid descriptions of pre-Revolutionary France but couldn't get into the story. I'll try the first one in the series (someday) and maybe come back to this.
Easy YA read. Good for younger teens looking for a little more Little Women with a side of murder.
Reading furiously to try and meet my Goodreads Reading Challenge goal before the end of the year. Bernard Cornwell is making it easy!
"Strike knew how deeply ingrained was the belief that the evil conceal their dangerous predilections for violence and domination. When they wear them like bangles for all to see, the gullible populace laughs, calls it a pose, or finds it strangely attractive." And apparently, strangely timely.
Picked this up because it's being turned into a show with Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman (among others). It's not usually something I'd read but I couldn't put it down!! Such a suspenseful mystery.
In need of a true historical fiction fix so I'm giving Philippa Gregory another shot (didn't love The Other Boleyn Girl) #WaroftheRoses #Lancaster #York
A chilly, creepy read for a grey day (with a grey cat). Historical mountain murder mystery in Swedish Lapland with supernatural elements.
This was absolutely hilarious. The breakups were sad (I didn't realize Norman Mailer was such a jackass and now am disappointed he was in an episode of the Gilmore Girls) but Wright's writing had me literally laughing out loud. Loved it!
