Some of the twists I saw coming, but it was still a very enjoyable read. I loved the character interactions, the humour, and the battle scenes were brilliantly described again. I look forward to the next installment of the series.

Number 9 of The Last Kingdom series did not disappoint. 💕. It was nice to see that Uhtred was not rescued by an arriving army. Here instead they used their wit and connections. Fast paced, well plotted, likeable characters, and lots of action. I love this series.
I‘ve never heard such a swear word, the way he slag people unbelievable.
A fantastic read! The description of the battles is both immersive and thrilling! What I wouldn‘t give to experience a shield wall! #Fate is inexorable
Yet another enjoyable historical romp through the creation of Englaland (no that is not a typo). Cornwell inches his hero, Uhtred, closer to reclaiming his birthright as Lord of Bebbanburg. But after 9 books, I really need the inching to pick up the pace. But still a most enjoyable historical fiction novel.
Anyone read this?
I have never read Cornello, which is strange because he writes the kind of stories that l enjoy.
This one? I'd just buy it for the cover 😍

Uthred spends a lot of time worrying about getting his rightful home back !!
As I read these lines, I thought this is as much true in today‘s world as it probably was in the Middle Ages.
Reading furiously to try and meet my Goodreads Reading Challenge goal before the end of the year. Bernard Cornwell is making it easy!
