I absolutely adored this book, not only did it bring out the issue of child prostitution, but it really made my heart smile, cry and swell all at the same time.

"The thing about having a mental breakdown is that no matter how obvious it is that you're having one, it is somehow not obvious to you. I'm fine, you think."
On my discovery about the faults of the education system, and this has been a great starting point!
I laughed, I cried, and I will admit that considered throwing the book out the window I got so mad sometimes. But, over all I am so thankful that Menon has created characters that many can relate to, showing their dreams as well as their own flaws. #Lovelovelove #Coffeeisaweapon
I dont really read creepy books very often, and this is kinda my first time reading the genre... and it's really good (even for a scaredy cat like me). So, looks like I'm going to be up all night looking for books like this! #Summerreading #Imascaredycat 😖🐱
Required read for my AP English class! So excited to finally have an excuse to read it for the first time. I have heard so much about it, and I really hope it lives up to its name! 🤗📚📖 #Stillreading #Summerreading
Just finished!! And it's amazing! So thought provoking on what our society can spiral into in only a matter of months. And on top of that is beautiful romance that makes me only raise the bar higher for my future husband. So, in conclusion, just read this book, you'll be so happy because of it.
Only a hundred pages in, but I must say... it's a must read for any reader!! When I first ordered American Street, I must say it was an accident (I forget to take it out of the cart), but now I'm so happy I didn't. It touches on dreams of an immigrant girl from Haiti, who is separated from her mother upon arriving to America. She finds love and hate and destruction, but most of all she finds what we all need a little more of.. hope.
Have to admit.... I'm a bit of a geek when it comes to LOTR :)

This book man, this is what the purity of nonfiction is like. It grips you, right in you heart of hearts. And through that pain you realize what your life means to you and others. So now I understand a piece of why I have always heard that this war was a bloodbath. Because it was, both mentally and physically. And looking back you see some of the worst in humanity, and some of the best.
Oh my goodness, this book is the bomb diggity. It takes what thoughts we all have, that doubt that we are all unimportant and insignifigant. And alters that notion that a single action, a single thought, a single word can change someones whole course of life. Something that you might find stupid can mean the whole world to another. This book puts your life into perspective and gives you something no one can describe in words
