1. Northern California where it is currently hot hot hot. 🔥🔥🔥
2. The exodus from Bookstagram!
3. The Princess Bride
4. No, but I used to want one so bad!

RaimeyGallant 2 questions because I'm confused: How and why did the exodus happen? And Bookstagram is Instagram, or am I mistaken? 8y
Lostinabookstore @RaimeyGallant Yes, bookstagram is the book community on Instagram😁. The move away from it has been building up for a while, bc IG changed the way they showed posts. Instead of showing you everyone you follow, they changed the algorithm to show you posts that they thought you would like, essentially prioritizing bigger accounts. It has gotten frustrating to not get to see accounts you follow & also knowing that what you post isn't getting seen. 8y
RaimeyGallant Thank you! I'm so happy I understand now. 8y

RaimeyGallant So are people saying they're leaving IG altogether, or are they saying they're going to move the majority of their time to Litsy? 8y
Lostinabookstore @RaimeyGallant I think there's both. I think people are really excited to join a community where they can engage more, but also a lot of people are hesitant to completely leave the community that we've built there 8y
RaimeyGallant Makes sense. 8y
saguarosally @Lostinabookstore I was wondering myself why the exodus was happening now when the algorithm over there changed months ago. 8y

I wanted to like this one! It just never really worked for me. There were SO many characters I was confused for like 1/4 of the book, and it made it hard to care about any of them. And I kept waiting for more about The Drowning Pool, some over-arching story to tie everything together, and it just never came.

Jess7 I'm sorry to hear this. I liked it. I had to write out the names of the characters with a quick blurb about who they were to keep track of it all, but I did ultimately like it. I thought it was a 3.5-4 of 5. Did you like her first book? 8y
Lostinabookstore @jess7 I did. But I was a little let down by that one too… I think that had more to do with all the hype though! I like the way she writes, I think I just had trouble with this story! I've seen a lot of people that liked it though, so it might just be me:) 8y
Jess7 @Lostinabookstore it has had a lot of mixed reviews. I loved her first book so I am a little biased. 8y

It's really messing me up how this book feels like it should be futuristic, but because it's actually set in present day there will suddenly be a paragraph about Nicki Minaj. 😂

MrBook Great pic, right @BookBabe ? 8y

I know so many people loved this, but it just didn't do it for me. I found myself not caring much. Not really about the story, not really about the characters. I thought both of the main characters were unlikable… which doesn't necessarily make me not like a book, but it doesn't typically help either. I found the "love" story incredibly weak and insta-love-y. Like everything else, it seemed underdeveloped. I won't be moving on to Wayfarer.

JenWindramReads I didn't like this one either. I could barely finish it 😞 8y
Lostinabookstore @JenWindramReads right? I feel like it was a love it or hate it type, because from what I've seen people felt strongly one way or the other. 8y

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2

I LOVED this book.
There was something SO great about this book, and I can't even put my finger on it. It was a light & easy read, but had a few gut punches as well. I was instantly engrossed in this world and this life, and I think my only complaint is that the ending felt a bit rushed. But, that could just be because I didn't want it to end at all.
If you're looking for any kind of a beach read this summer, this is your book.
