A great read. Tense from the start, like a slow-burning fuse. This is book 15 and although I‘ve not read them in order it may be one of the best I‘ve read so far. #sohocrime #billyboyle

The 5th book in Fritz Leiber‘s series as published by Centipede Press.
Volume 4 in new edition from Centipede Press. Halfway there. Awaiting volume 5 in 2021.
Volume 3 in new edition from Centipede Press. Each book is a treasure.
Volume 2 in new edition from Centipede Press. One released each year.
Four stories. Somewhat in the horror theme. Small press edition. Mixed feelings about this one. Maybe I prefer novels?
Two short novels. Supposedly classics. A bit of North by Northwest in the first one, but not too thrilling.
Latest Blaylock novel. Victorian cannibals. A strange one, that‘s for sure.
Picked up this book in Houston. I only lack #3 in the series. It‘s a hard one to find.
I now have all the Gauntlet Press editions of F. Paul Wilson‘s Repairman Jack books. Not counting the two trilogies, that is.
One of the best fantasy books ever written. Now in a gorgeous limited edition from Centipede Press.
Starts out like a Christie book, setting the scene with one character hated by multiple people. Let‘s call him the victim, for he is found murdered. Then the police inspector arrives. Doesn‘t seem to do much, but the story unfolds. A cerebral book, though many of the sensibilities seem outdated.
Hard-boiled American fiction. A bit over the top, but supposed to be a classic in the mystery genre.
In keeping with the "war and mystery" theme, this book is a non-fiction look at a real life mystery during the Spanish Civil War, one that involved Ernest Hemingway and John Dos Passos.
Now for a mystery story set during World War II in England, with a side trip to Norway. Perhaps the novel tried to do too much with the latter sub-plot. Also, a tragic death meant not as positive a review from my part.
Murakami's longest and best novel. Published as one a three volume set. I chose the three volume set.
Detailed look at how the press and police work together and against each other. Unanswered questions remain at the end of this long book, yet the writing and characters are riveting.
