I absolutely loved this book. Using three parallel timelines to provide social commentary through the eyes of three strong and independent women during pivotal times in the American social fabric is ingenious and so effective. Loved it and am thinking about it even after finishing the book over 24 hours ago. Highly recommend it

Sun Is Also a Star | Nicola Yoon
Pickpick

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Yoon has a unique voice that really drew me in. The experiences of two immigrant families and the stereotypes are so well done. The short chapters with multiple POVs worked in this case. There are layers and depths to the characters that helped with the pace.

Gentleman in Moscow | Amor Towles
Pickpick

Absolutely loved it. Despite the pace being much slower than what I normally read there is a sense of grounding and cadence that was delightful. The MC does what needs to be done with any drama (a low profile heroism) that I enjoyed. Alexander and Sofia are both strong yet subtle characters and sacrifice in several forms underpins the story. There is a lesson that the human spirit rises above all misery, pettiness & suffering. That‘s a great lesson
