One of the best books I've read in a really really long time.

Just re read this books for book club. Had to dig up my copy from junior high. It was even better than I remembered it.

A fairly short, manageable book that gives a great overview of all the main conflicts taking place in the Middle East. In addition to the history lesson, the story about the Author was also interested eating.

Riveted_Reader_Melissa I just picked this one up from the library. I recently read his War Journal: Five Years in Iraq and really liked reading about his personal experiences, so I'm looking forward to reading this one. 8y

jeff Nice. Success? 8y
Sankster Eh - marginal. But I would fault the reader not the author. 8y

Starting to read this for our book club - I'm not gonna lie -it's moving kinda slow

jeff Curious to hear what you think. Murakami has been on my to read list for quite some time 8y
todd Best first line ever, in my opinion. I'm into surreal fiction/bizarre plots. This book was right up my alley. Hope it pans out for you...If so, OOP may have a shirt for you in 2016 🙃 @outofprint 8y

Really enjoyed this one. It was my first foray into historical fiction and I thought it was fantastic. I learned a lot about WWII that I didn't know while also getting to read a very moving and interesting story. I almost cried at the end!
