I‘m posting one book a day from my massive collection. No description, no reason for why I want to read it.

Nearly a Pan. Seemed very long to me , wasn‘t sure where it was going so I kept going, seems it was going nowhere. The narrator was a female but I had to keep reminding myself as the voice felt like male to me.
Picked up because it had a rainbow sticker and the author is Aussie.

An absolute heartbreaker! Two limbs: both are Australian girls who are attracted to/in love with their female best friends. Told in alternating chapters: one limb grows up to marry a man, the other is out and lives with found family. Both women/stories are impacted by the AIDS epidemic and both tragic, albeit with very different events. I loved this and was torn apart by both women‘s stories.

The Oopsatoreum: Inventions of Henry A. Mintox | Shaun Tan, Powerhouse Museum Staff

This is not a Shaun Tan book I am used to but I loved it! It's about a fake inventor named Henry Archibald Mintox and the fake stories about the inventions pictured in the book. The pictures are actually really from the Powerhouse Museum. I thought the pictures, and the stories were great and hilarious.

I could feel this book in my bones. It physically caused me pain. Because that's how good Hardcastle writes. I could feel the loss, the grief, the pain the characters went through. This is how intense this book is. So be careful if you want to read it (recommended!). Especially if you are personally involved in one of the topics. To me the parts about the AIDS epidemic in the 80ties was almost impossible to read.

TheBookHippie It was almost impossible to live through. I‘ve had this to read. I just don‘t know if I can. 3mo

Next op shop was the Red Cross. This was a much better score than I usually get from there. The books were excellent. Lots of which I already own. The scrapbook supplies were super cheap and the clothes were fun. Grand total 🟰 $46.00. I didn‘t spend too much considering I downed 2 delicious margaritas at the Mexican restaurant for lunch along with 3 fish tacos beforehand.

I almost gave up on this audiobook within the first hour because I was having a hard time following which character was which. But it got easier and I‘m glad I stuck with it. It‘s heavy on heartbreak, but so beautiful. I just barely didn‘t cry at work while listening. 💔
