Thorne‘s writing feels very authentic, honest and above all, it narrates an incredible, surprising journey. Kate felt so real to me, I could have imagined meeting her in real life. The novel had great pacing; an interesting storyline; and an awesome, evolving protagonist. I highly recommend this book to fans of contemporary YA. This is a must-read.

Ruta Sepetys is one of my all-time favorite authors. I'm only 70 pages in the book, but have already cried many times.
