StayCurious But not everyone is fooled: Nesta sees through the glamour. And she actually went after Feyre. deep down Feyre knows she can‘t stay there, not when her High Lord could be in danger. If Nesta was brave enough to go to Prythian, so is Feyre. 2d

I had heard so many things about this series so was keen to read the first book as part of #litsylovesromance.
Magical lands, violence, adventure, beasts, faerie‘s - there was so much going on and that doesn‘t include the romance. The relationship between Tamlin and Feyre was swoon worthy .
A seductive, adventure that the author detailed perfectly. I can‘t wait to read the next one.

#LittensLoveRomance #ACOTAR Ch.25,26,27: A lot happened in these chapters but mainly we‘ll focus on Rhysand, the dark High Lord linked to the *she* we‘ve been afraid of. Yeah, he seems like a jerk but he knows what‘s going on. Tamlin is still keeping things from Feyre - to protect her or himself and his realm? Can he really send her home? Will she leave her newfound home now that she finally feels comfortable there? She might not have a choice. ⬇️

StayCurious It seems as though things are crumbling around Tamlin and the spring court and Feyre may be his weakness and his downfall. Unless she‘s like the key to everything. So many unanswered questions! 3d

It‘s hard to believe that he would send her back to the awful life she had before. But yet, he wants to keep her safe…I still feel like Feyre is the key to something. IDK how or what, though. CrowCAH I agree @mcctrish @vonnie862 that was shocking that they‘d stoop so low to protect her. I knew this was a BatB type story, but I was still torn when he came to the decision to allow her to go. He finally accepted her and she him and now they‘ll be separated. 3d

#LittensLoveRomance #ACOTAR Ch.22,23,24: Feyre is definitely liking and trusting Tamlin more - enough to show him her paintings, and to dress to impress. And he shows her what his world is really like. I feel better knowing that his court is not completely abandoned as it appeared to be. There are many more fairies there than Feyre could see. ⬇️

StayCurious We hear about The Night Court - there‘s no love lost between Tamlin and the Night Court‘s High Lord it seems. What a strange and terrible prank? 4d

#LittensLoveRomance #ACOTAR Ch.19,20,21: We learn more about the Faerie world and about the concept of Mates. Could Tamlin and Feyre be destined or is it not in the cards? But things are starting to go well between Feyre and Tamlin, that is until Feyre goes against his orders and sneaks out to the Fire Njght. Feyre and her curiosity! She lands in such dangerous situations. ⬇️

StayCurious If that handsome stranger hadn‘t been there…and who is he and where is he from? I‘m sure we haven‘t seen the end of him. And then Feyre has that run in with Tamlin after Lucien tells her what the Rite is. I got an ick feeling that he was with someone else that night and then comes to Feyre with hopes of what? I dunno. My gut isn‘t rooting for these two as much as it was. Even if Feyre is drawn to him. 5d

mcctrish Tam had to take someone else and was pissed off. He did warn her but Lucien obviously thinks Feyre should be given more information that she gets. 5d

I picked up this book for a Litsy read along and it was so good I couldn‘t just read 2 chapters a day. I now know why Romantasy is such a popular new genre. It‘s romance with a thrilling, action packed B-storyline. This story felt like a beauty and the beast spin off, which made me enjoy it more. It also had a little Psyche trials of proving her love of Eros to Aphrodite spin too. I love that particular Greek myth. So, all in all I‘d recommend it!

They aren‘t all the vicious creatures she was warned about - although there do seem to be a lot of dangers in The Spring Court. And who is this terrible lady faerie we keep hearing whispers about? Tamlin seems to be trying more with Feyre. ⬇️

StayCurious He offers to help her write, he reassures her about her family‘s welfare, he brings her to a starlight glen cough cough aka Twilight Meadow) - for Feyre this is akin to Beast giving Belle a library. The man is working hard. But what does he really want from her? 6d

If this were my book, I‘d be luxuriating in baths, food and the library and just avoiding all that danger- it‘d be very boring haha. But that‘s not who Feyre is. She likes to test boundaries. She‘s still working for her family even when she‘s away from them. ⬇️

StayCurious Hoping to save them from the blight. Will she listen to the Suriel‘s advice and stay close to Tamlin or did it perhaps mean a different High Lord? Is Tamlin her future? Will he keep her safe when he seems to be losing control of his lands? Or is she the key perhaps to changing things? So many questions. 7d

#LittensLoveRomance #ACOTAR Ch.10,11,12: we learn more about Tamlin-that he‘s a great warrior-and Prythian, and catch glimpses of conversations that tell us things are not great in Fae-land. Tamlin and Lucien are worried and Feyre hates being in the dark. She‘s brave for digging and asking the questions she does. I wouldn‘t have the guts. But where does she fit in? Is there another reason Tamlin brought her there? Why is he running out of time?

#LittensLoveRomance #ACOTAR Ch.7-9: Mmm Feyre gets to eat. I‘m here for it - let‘s fatten this poor girl up. Feyre tries to plan a way to escape. She disses Tamlin when he offers her a tour (brave or dumb) and seeks out the foxy Lucien to get him to plead her case with Tamlin. She should have just played nice with Tamlin in hopes of doing it herself - but what do I know. But Lucien sees right through her plan and basically puts a stop to it. ⬇️

It might be one of the read alongs I just skip ahead and re-live the moments and chapters as everyone else does with the posts but secretly know what happens next. 🤣 1w

TheAromaofBooks I kind of forgot that we were starting this one but I am caught up now 😂 I think this story would be so much more believable if Feyre had people she actually LOVED back home. This whole “I promised my mother“ doesn't feel like strong enough motivation for how desperate she is to escape so she can be malnourished, cold, and get back to the people who treat her like garbage. 1w

Of course, she‘s desperate to escape and return to her family - who, let‘s face it, don‘t stand a chance without her. I‘d be soaking in this vacation if I were her…⬇️

StayCurious but Feyre‘s grown up on terrible tales of the High Fae and she‘s even warned by the servant Alis not to trust her senses in Prythian. She‘s terrified and hoping for a chance to flee. Can she do what she‘s told for the time being and not get herself into trouble? 1w

I hate her family - I feel bad that Feyre (pronounced Fair-ruh) is taking care of them and feels bound to them and bound to her terrible existence. They‘re useless. I said it. But A promise is a promise and Feyre made a serious one to her mother - ⬇️

StayCurious probably because the woman realized they would die without help. I appreciated the world building the author did - I‘m interested to see where this is going, especially considering how Ch.3 ended. I think we can all agree that Feyre is meant for more than this life. 2w

Late to the party! 😬

I didn't find this the addictive, compulsive page turner everyone said it was. I found it VERY tedious in the middle but it picked up when Rhysand was introduced. I hope the rest of the series picks up as this was just a Beauty and the Beast retelling 🤣

I am, however, getting strange vibes from Tamlin... so I will finish the series and hope it grips me!

5feet.of.fury Yeah, Book 2 is really where the magic happens. I liked the trials in ACOTAR 1 but a lot of that book seemed like a totally different thought. 3w

LMJenkins I enjoyed it! When I read it, it was not my typical genre, but it really sucked me in and what can I say? It was a pleasure to read it. Best literature, I‘ve ever read, no. But that doesn‘t matter. I had fun and it was a fantasy and I liked it. 4w

Butterfinger I'm not one who likes graphic spicy scenes, so i usually only read YA fantasy.. There's a lot of spice, but I love the characters. I never thought I would cry while reading a fantasy, BUT I bawled during the very last book of the series. 4w

Last book of 2024! I did like it, but didn‘t love it. I‘ve heard the second one is amazing so I‘ll give it a go! I did enjoy the last 100 pages or so the most!

I started this on my Kindle awhile ago, and for some reason, it just didn‘t grab me right away - I must not have been in the mood for it. I know it‘s such a beloved series, so I thought I would give it another try with the dramatized adaptation audiobooks. I can understand the appeal and the potential - I imagine the rest of the books in the series will only get better now that the story is set up. 🎧

I finally jumped on the bandwagon and started this series. Full of tropes - unreasonably feisty heroine, good at hunting with a bow, pretty enough but fairly ordinary except for her feistiness, is sentenced to fairyland a la Beauty and the Beast. Incredibly hot male fairies find her irresistibly attractive. She has to save the fairy realm against impossible odds using cunning and bravery. The fresh writing made it all enjoyable. On to book 2!

Returned the #audiobooks via #hoopla

This was an enjoyable book! Totally loved the “Beauty and the Beast” vibes.

The romance was heartwarming 💘
Believable characters, liked their flaws, and how they still had hope
A lot of tragedy is experienced by the characters, yet they still live with the pain and seek justice

I‘ll continue the series. I hear book two is the best of them.

Started this #audiobook and got through three hours in my first sitting. Seems very Beauty and the Beast so far. I like it, waiting for some action to start soon.

willaful I remember finding the audiobook rather repetitive in style -- a dramatized adaption sounds like a good idea. 4mo

I have this book on kindle, IRL and audio- and with my brain fog lifting (thanks to HRT) I decided to reread and see if i still enjoyed it - and I did. I love a Beauty and The Beast type story and really enjoyed the Fae and storyline. It made a huge difference having all three formats available.

I went in with low expectations because it is so popular. I was delightfully surprised by this book and I enjoyed the story and love interest. My only complaint would be the slower pacing in the beginning.

I finally got around to reading this. While the book was really fun and I still am curious as to what happens next, I just felt like some things were ridiculous. The twist/big reveal was pretty obvious and a little bit too manipulated for the sake of making it make sense with everything that‘s happened. I did enjoy the second half a lot though, and I love how dark and gory it is. It‘s not a cute story, it‘s ugly in a good way. Also Nesta>>>>>>>

Last year, she was spotted with the author of the series Sarah J. Maas after news of a previous TV series with Hulu fell through.

While I loved the character building during this book, and how the actual story went, I liked the rest of the books in this series more. The first book felt, to me, more like a setup for the real story, than the actual story. On that note, I couldn't put this (or any other of this series) book down!
