I loved every page of this book. It is fast paced, has a few surprises along the way and lovable characters. I liked how the story is told, alternating between the heroes of the story.

Continuing with the #24in48 readathon this morning. My time is nothing to brag about but I‘m happy to have finished this book. Absolutely loved it! Often the second book in a series never lives up to the first but with A Torch Against the Night, the author has written another wonderfully crafted, intriguing, intelligent and hugely entertaining instalment to the story of Laia, Elias and Helene. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #muslimauthor #Booked2019 #Booked2019summer

IvoryLunatic I haven‘t made it much further either. I‘ll be happy if I make 12 hours but it‘s still fun to make reading a priority even if life gets in the way. :) 5mo

All the tears as I got towards the end. Didn't want to finish the book, because I learned that it was not a Trilogy, but a quartet. So I was trying to make the audio last as long as possible, still finishing 😂😭

A Torch Against the Night is equally as thrilling as An Ember in the Ashes. Without missing a beat, Sabaa Tahir had my heart racing from page one. I felt like I couldn‘t catch my breath until I finished the book.

Wow, just wow. This series is packing one powerful punch.

Looking to clear my mind before diving back in to Outlander, I‘ve decided pick up book two from An Ember in the Ashes series. The new covers are absolutely gorgeous! What a difference. I‘m going to have to buy the newer version of An Ember in the Ashes to match. 😍

So good! This is the 2nd book in The Ember in the Night series. It started with a bang and ended with hope. I can‘t wait for book 3 to see what Laia accomplishes. I read this on my Kindle but I have hard copies as well. I‘m giving the series to my 14 yo nephew this summer b/c there are few readers in my family and he‘s one of them.

Heartbreaking in the best possible way. A Torch Against the Night is one of the most thrilling books I've read in a long time. The plot is thick and masterfully put together. It left me gasping for air, sobbing and utterly in love. I didn't even know how I had come to care for the characters so much until I almost cried my eyes out in the second half of the book. I already know this will be one of my favourite trilogies of all time.

Perhaps grief is like a battle: After experiencing enough of it, your body's instincts take over. You prepare for the agony of a shredded heart. And when it hits, it hurts, but not as badly, because you have locked away your weakness, and all that's left is anger and strength.
