Does anyone ever have a hard time getting around characters names when they‘re first introduced? CLEMENTINE. (I wanna just call her orange) 😄

Quick read but B-O-R-I-N-G. I think I‘ll just stick to my personal stack and quit veering off into suggestive territory. 😑
I‘ve heard mostly good about this book. One reader (on another site) said it was slow reading? I‘m glad it‘s finally in my hands! I waited awhile on the Library‘s list!
Starting my week off with a little James Patterson. I have enjoyed many of his stand alone titles featuring women as the main characters.
I WAS reading “I Can Only Imagine”-Bart Millard on my Kindle but the power button died. (Another reason to hate my kindle) so I‘m resorting to a good ol‘ paperback. This is good so far!
I‘ve enjoyed all of his books and this one is a great read as well. Thank goodness for windy weather that allows me to stay indoors and read!
A friend recommended this book. Luckily, I found the mass market paper back at Goodwill on Saturday! I‘m only 20 pages in and it‘s interesting. I do not intend to watch the TV series though.
It‘s been awhile since I‘ve read one of Anita‘s books. This one is having no problem drawing me in.
“You could get lost in these woods so easily. You could lose yourself in them. You could live an entire secret history inside of them, a decade‘s worth, with no witnesses.”
“I‘m giving these clothes a new lease on life. And I love the fact that I‘m able to restore them. Where there are so many things in life that can‘t be restored.”
Does anyone else dislike trying to find the perfect quote for these things?
“It was charming until I realized the little wren was feathering her new home with fluffy bits of human hair, blond, auburn, and chestnut, woven in with her reeds.”
I loved this book from beginning to end! The characters were all likable and the writing rich and descriptive. Oh....and now I‘d love to visit Charleston, SC!!
“Sometimes it‘s not we hold on to that shapes our lives-it‘s what we‘re willing to let go of.”
The book was fairly depressing but did have a few good moments. I liked how it ended and plan to read other titles by this author.
“...the whole thing seems to rise like a phoenix from the ashes, a tent the size of the massive gymnasium at Darmstadt where seconds ago there had been nothing.”
