Wave #1 of the books I need for this semester has arrived!! I have quite a few more on the way, but these are the ones I got through Prime because I needed them ASAP. I‘m excited that my core classes are out of the way so that I can really focus on learning things that are more relevant to my career.

Been struggling through The Silmarillion. I‘ve considered abandoning it because I don‘t seem to be retaining any info from it, which is sad because I really want to understand elf lore better. But I‘m going to keep on trucking. I‘ll likely have to read a guide for it later on, but that‘s okay. In the meantime, I have this book!! I love anthologies like this. Right now I‘m reading “The Canterville Ghost” by Oscar Wilde.

Sorry for not updating much!! I‘ve been so busy for the holidays. Knitted socks for my boyfriend and my mom for Christmas, went to visit my best friends for New Years, and now I‘m finally home and trying to not fall behind on homework for my online winter class. And on top of that I‘ve been running for 2 hours every day to burn off all the extra holiday treats I‘ve been eating. It‘s been rough, but I found this book today, so I‘m happy.

Mongrels: A Novel | Stephen Graham Jones

Writing a final paper for my American novel class on Mongrels, Salem‘s Lot, and Wise Blood. Going through my Kindle highlights so I can mark them in my hard copy!! Gonna be writing about children in gothic literature and their tendency to be the characters with the highest capacity for truth. Wish me luck!!

BookishMarginalia Sounds interesting! 5y
