I love that they are calling the Doctor in this story "Pills"...
It‘s that time of year to take this off the shelf! I read a few from this annually 🍂 👻🍂.

Been struggling through The Silmarillion. I‘ve considered abandoning it because I don‘t seem to be retaining any info from it, which is sad because I really want to understand elf lore better. But I‘m going to keep on trucking. I‘ll likely have to read a guide for it later on, but that‘s okay. In the meantime, I have this book!! I love anthologies like this. Right now I‘m reading “The Canterville Ghost” by Oscar Wilde.
pickThis was my view today. I stayed home because I was feeling ill. And you know it had to be bad because I didn't go and get new comics today. But I did finish "The Big Book of Ghost Stories" on audio. It was full of some of the best creepers.
I am currently 34 hours into this 51 hour magnum opus and loving every minute of it.
Back home from watching son and his HS marching band in our Halloween Parade 🎃. Now kicking back with a couple ghost stories 👻 . Ooh, this one is a classic and I remember very well reading this story many years ago 😱! Bookmark was made/sent to me by @LibrarianRyan last year 😊
I‘ve had this big book for about 5 years, and take it out every fall to read a few. 😱👻 still haven‘t gotten to them all; it‘s truly big. Most are classics. Love it!
However, did not love this beer at all from last night. Cool label, but it was way over-hopped especially for a stout. I had to pour it down the sink. Good thing it was a single rather than a pack!!
This is my current audio book. It is over 51 hours long. Looks like I'm in for a treat.
Reading this story before heading over to the HS football game. Son is in marching band. Tomorrow they are hosting a marching band competition and I'm volunteering. Sunday he has a piano recital. No readathon for me this weekend 😢 but hope those of you participating have tons of fun! #allhallowsread
I just read "The Lost Boy of the Ozarks" by Steve Friedman (in The Big Book of Ghost Stories) and it scared me so much ?! Don't get lost in the woods ?!!! Don't really remember how scary the Bachman Books were but I'm starting "Rage". Hopefully I'll have enough time this month to read at least one from the others here. #allhallowsread @Litsy
Love me some ghost stories and it's getting closer to Hallowe'en, so what better excuse to start a book that's been lurking on my kindle for awhile now.
I like #shortstories but I usually read them in between other books instead of all the way through. As a result they're my coffee table books. Here's what I have on mine now, in anticipation of #scaretober. The Big Book of Ghost Stories is indeed big; its been scaring me every October for a few years. Seven Gothic Tales by Isak Dinesen is one that I found recently...looking forward to trying it! Edith Wharton (right book) wrote good scary stories.
Something I've been thinking about: I usually read ghost stories/spooky stories throughout the fall - would folks be interested in doing a read-along/read together just for ghost or supernatural stories? We could share recommendations, pick out the stories together - it's totally up to us (thinking something similar to the August Photo Challenge, but fall themed).
