Whoops my hand slipped.
Accidental book haul at the library. I felt soo bad because the electronic check out system was completely down and I didn‘t know until I went to the desk. Sorry librarians! #codenameverity #gameofthrones #vicious #theladyoftherivers #themimeorder #queenofthetearling #sarahskey #bookhaul #library

And my character analysis of the Fellowship using outdated memes. missing: Gimli: Looks like he could/would kill you, is actually a cinnamon roll.

Red: A History of the Redhead | Jacky Colliss Harvey
Pickpick

I liked this until the end when it stopped being about history and became Harvey‘s own soapbox. Like bro just tell me about the other gingers I want to know more about my awesome hair.

A magic “thousand and one nights” style dystopian western!?!?!? Only one chapter in and LOVING the premise.

Easily one of my favorite non-fiction books. I tore through it in three days and gained a lot of insight on being an introvert. I feel better equipped to be a quiet person in a loud world. I recommend it to all, extroverts included!

Silent Spring | Rachel Carson

I could stay up all night reading this. Amazing prose and it started a movement that still endures today. Rachel Carson is quickly becoming one of my role models and literary heroes.

This is AMAZING. If you like Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, Dinosaur Comics, Nimona, Lumberjanes, Homestuck, or Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal, this is a must read. Also features art from super awesome web comic artists and graphic novel artists.

Finally reading LOTR! The last time I tried was during my geometry class in high school with the most stereotypically boring and monotone math teacher you can imagine. It did not go well.

Richryan52 You'll be glad you came back to it 7y
abby-doodle-bug @Richryan52 I'm excited to finally know the whole story, but ugh everything in Rivendell! 7y

Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters | Jane Austen, Ben H. Winters
Pickpick

I love Jane Austen, and I think she would appreciate the silliness of the quirk classics spins on her books. However, Ben Winters' addition of sea monsters felt a little forced. There was a subtle but still jarring difference between his diction and syntax and Austen's, characters were majorly changed, and plot points added, seriously reworked, or removed completely for the sake of sea monsters. Overall a fun read but not perfect.

She slouched lower on her bench. Scratched unabashedly at her shoulder. Sat with her feet spread. Ordered whatever she wanted, without hesitation. And met every man's gaze full on when addressed.

I may have finished 1/3 of this book in my downtime at work today. trying to catch up with the reading frenzy's read along, so I'd say I'm making good progress.

TheYoungAtHeartReader Just finished it last week. It starts to pick up but kind of goes downhill at the end 7y
abby-doodle-bug yeah so far it's been pretty slow. loving the premise but very annoyed by scarlett and julian's antics. like can we have some original characters and not just tropes please? 7y
