Blown away by this book and I'm barely into it. Love this passage about a working mom. 💕

I enjoyed this a lot, and learned and laughed a lot. Win! The chapters on social media were less interesting to me, but overall an enthusiastic pick.
Currently loving the hell out of this!
I started to rate this So-So but then decided that for a novella, it's good. There's not a whole lot of characterization going on, but the plot is there. Interesting as a precursor of/inspiration for Stoker's Dracula.
SUPERFUN! There was no way I could wait for the next issue; I had to keep reading. Fantastic creepy Victorian gothic mystery/ghost/horror story: Venice! Mysterious widows! A rake with an interest in chemistry! To tell more would be a disservice.
"The physical manifestation of a conspiracy of love." I wanna be one of those conspirators!
I was really inspired by Senator Booker's speech at the Democratic National Convention; I think this is going to be a great book!
Incredibly inspiring book; a must-read for anyone interested in criminal justice!
Amazing, and sad to think of what else those resources could have accomplished.

"Proximity has taught me some basic and humbling truths, including this vital lesson: Each of us is more than the worst thing we‘ve ever done. My work with the poor and the incarcerated has persuaded me that the opposite of poverty is not wealth; the opposite of poverty is justice."
Started this last night because my book club is reading it. I'm pretty sure I've read this; in any case I can see tragedy coming. NOT FEELING IT. Someone tell me why I ought to get excited about this book. 😕
If you liked 84, Charing Cross Road then you will probably enjoy this too. I for one am a total sucker for the book about books (and readers). Went straight to my "books for bad days" Goodreads shelf.
A quick, fun read, especially during the Olympics. Imagine "Girl on the Balance Beam" instead of Girl on the Train. ?
Just realized I never rated this! I thought it was great. John Lewis is a true American hero.
Loved it! The characters were wonderfully developed. Couldn't put it down.
My work BFFs are reading this, so I picked it up too and OMG I love it.
Loved it, but I'm no Austen purist and I like seeing the decisions a writer makes in retelling a story. I thought this really worked and was tons of fun to read besides. Recommended for people unburdened by literary sacred cows. 😜
Starting this as part of a read along with a co-worker and fellow Austen enthusiast. So far, I like it!
I enjoyed reacquainting myself with Harriet so much. I remembered how much I envied Harriet's city life as a kid living in small, suburban towns. And I appreciate Fitzhugh's flawed and so human characters all the more as an adult.
It's two days until the RNC begins here in my hometown of Cleveland. I'm becoming increasingly anxious about it, so re-reading a childhood favorite sounds like a good plan.
The general consensus of my book club (including me) was "I wanted to love it, but I didn't." Reading this book felt a little like walking around in a fog; I was never sure where I was going.
I was surprised to read so many negative reviews on GR, especially of the "people only say this is good because they think they ought to" variety. I loved this book, but I am interested in Buddhism and find it very appealing. Maybe that helps. I found it beautiful. Another win for Serial Reader!
Matchy! 😀 My mom has been practically begging me to read this book, so I plan to start it today.
Eh, it was okay--a little too melodramatic for my taste. I see why it's important, though. On the other hand, I give an A++ to Serial Reader.
A nice read while I was spending a day traveling. Some of the events covered in the book are inaccessible to anyone other than fiber industry bigwigs (TNNA for example), so it's fun to read about them.
Hey, random question. Could someone explain to me how to put the links to what you are currently reading in your profile? Thanks! 😊
Ugh. Only read this because my book club did. Too violent for me, and Jack Reacher isn't my kind of protagonist.
WOW! "Like" doesn't begin to describe how I feel about this book. Achingly beautiful and sad. It's so perfect--how can this be her first book?! And when can I read her next one? Was excited to see she grew up in Shaker Heights, OH (where I live). Hope she comes back sometime for a talk or signing!
Ok, not REALLY about this book. Why is "women's fiction" a genre? When are we going to recognize that books about women are books about HUMANS and therefore of potential interest to ALL readers? Rant over.
Absolutely loving this book!
Such FUN! It's a retelling of Jane Eyre, sure, but altogether its own story, hugely enjoyable on its own merits and able to be appreciated by the unfortunate reader who is unfamiliar with Bronte. Perfect summer read!
I especially enjoyed the contributions from authors and I did add a few books to my TBR pile, so I'll give it a thumbs up.
Really fun read! Glamorous locations, plot twists galore, some humor, what's not to love?
Reading this now. I enjoy his books so much -- they're just FUN. They remind me of movies like Charade or To Catch a Thief...the glamorous, witty spy/crime novel.
A really lovely book about trees, birds, climate change, and learning about personal relationships from the point of view of an autistic teenage boy. Highly recommend.
Really enjoying this book! I don't have autism, but my sons are on the spectrum, and the portrayal of the main character here seems spot on.
For my first post on Litsy, the books atop my TBR pile.
