It's a rainbows and post apocalyptic nightmare kind of day.

What is most lacking in Congress today are members with institutional pride and loyalty, who understand the essential and difficult task of peacefully reconciling diverse interests through processes of negotiation and compromise.

As a basic white college grad student, I can say this is 100% accurate

No, I don't mean love, when I say patriotism. I mean fear. The fear of the other. And it's expressions are political, not poetical: hate, rivalry, aggression. It grows in us that fear. It grows in us year by year. We've followed our road too far.

An empathetic, non-judgemental, and non-condescending guide to getting a medical or surgical abortion. I wish high schoolers read this during sex Ed.

A fairly good graphic novel medical memoir. Maybe not the one I would recommend first, but a great addition to the sub genre

"Earl was stony faced. "Everybody dies," he said. Actually he said "Irrybody dies," but that looks stupid written out somehow. How does writing even work? I hate this."

I thought how much I liked winter in the Zebra, when you can see the intricate pattern of all those twigs and branches, and fat old crows sit at the very tops of the trees like dark winter buds. But then, I like all the seasons, an I like that they'll come round next year, too.

"The audacity of hope! In the end, that is God's greatest gift to us, the bedrock of this nation. A belief in things not seen. A belief that there are better days ahead."
May we not lose this hope in the coming election season.

My second attempt at reading this book, and it is going much better this time. It is amazing that he has been our president through this time of racial turmoil.

Rx: Summer House with Swimming Pool... Or a lake house with local brews. Either way, this is a solid Tuesday.

I don't know if you read comics, but if you do, you'll notice there usually isn't much that separates the villain from the hero. Lonely outcasts, masked identities, troubled childhoods, misunderstood by all-- very often... The villain tried to convince the hero they're the same.

Pickpick

I remember when strangeness of ordinary life interacted with the imagined supernatural world in my own life. This novel stretches that to the limits of belief in a smart, funny, and slightly insane novel.

Blurgh. Now I can be done with this series... What the hell was this author thinking when she introduced the weird eugenics plot line... And did she ever take a biology class... Cause that's not how genes work!
