Fantastic first book in the series where the victims are attacked in a horrific way, and Tom Thorne has to find his way through the challenging case. We also meet his long time friend and pathologist with unique appearance, Phil Hendrix. Exciting, pacey, filled with rich characters.

Another fantastic Matilda Darke series. A brave dig into the dark world of historical child abuse. What this book does so well is really explore our sense of morality and justice, but without lecturing us.
It's fantastic to get back with the DCI Darke family - by that, I mean her colleagues. There's little more I can say without spoilers other than this book reads well standalone, but even better in series.
