Might have to buy this book too.
Might have to buy this book too.
I keep wanting to highlight passages but can‘t because it‘s a library book so I broke down and bought it. Will return to it after I have my personal copy to notate.
This bit here is why I keep coming back to this, I think.
I have never read a book with so many food mentions that inspired so little desire to find and eat them.
Dusting off this acct again to see if it helps me track my grad school reads. Late night reading this Independence Day bodes dreams of bloodletting and harsh mercies - both an indictment and a warning.
I'm about a third of the way through. They way it deals with societal, particularly male, preoccupation with female obedience and compliance when it comes to all things carnal is difficult to read in one sitting. It's pressing a lot of my buttons about the reactions I get from everyone, especially my Korean mother, when I insist that I will not marry or have children. What disobedience. What waste. How unnatural.
Finally got my butt to the store to use my gift card and get this book. Can't waaaaaait to get started!!
y'all get on scribd right now!! They did away with unlimited audiobooks like a month after I started, which was irritating, but it's back for a bit with a limited rotating selection. Not super impressed w/their selection but exited to start this one :3
And after that terribly snobbish introduction, Mr. Fikry redeems himself.
Running behind on a few things this month despite the long weekend (or perhaps because of it...)
I've been meaning to get to this book for a while now! It'll be my treat for finishing the budgeting (so I know how much I can spend on books, of course!) 💸💸💸
This is my weekend. I have so much reading to do before classes start! Binging the @bookriot podcast got me back into books and kickstarted this transition back into academia & a more bookish life. Of course they'd have the perfect article for me to stretch my limbs while I stretch my mind as well~
