This is such a great read! It has just enough of all the good things. A little mystry and a little adventure mixed with just enough romance. Even after finishing this book, I'm not entirely sure what happened or who to believe.
March Beer and Books Club choice. It has some pretty amazing reviews, so I hope it lives up to its reputation.
Overall, the story idea was amazing. The world Sarah Humpherys created has just the right amount of fantasy. For the most part, the characters were believable, and I could see the story going on into more books. However, I could do without the romance parts; they weren't believable, and to.me didn't stay true to the characters' personalities. It was the love side of the story that gave away the fact that the author is only 15 years old.
It wasn't much of a mystery. The only reason I didn't guess the killer was because I kept thinking it couldn't be that simple...but then it was. Over-all it was a good read but not a good mystery
Time to start the February Beers and Books Club book. Looks and smells like it might be a good one
I wanted this book to be better than it was. Overall, it was okay, but it had real potential to be better
Every year on Christmas Eve, my daughter and I exchange books that we pick for each other. This year's book from her is "Luck of the Titanic". I have always been fascinated by the Titanic, so I'm super excited to give this book a try.
I've been told that I always pick dark books, and after loving this one, as much as I do, I can't argue that. I can not recommend this book enough; just when you think you have it figured out, you realize you don't. A true coming-of-age story. I loved the way the author used the various fairy tales as a way to tell the tragic story. Seriously....if you haven't read this book, do it now!
Was not expecting a graphic novel when I ordered this book.....what a pleasant surprise 😜
I really enjoyed this one. It's a super easy read with a fantastic message about kindness and how 1 small act can change lives. There were times while reading this that I got a little chocked up and I found myself what I can do to make a difference, even if its a all one. "Kindness is contagious. It changes lives. It changed mine. What will it do for you?" - Caitlin Alifirenka
Fell off the reading wagon for a little bit. I guess that happens when you are working so hard on opening a business! Now that we're open I have a little more time and it's time to catch up on my goal. I still have time to complete 24 books this year right?!? So far this book is very intriguing, hope to finish it in the next 4 days
This book came very highly recommended in a pen pal group I belong to so I thought I'd give it a go. Have you read it? I'll keep you posted on my thoughts
I would recommend this to anyone going after their passion and starting their own small business. Lots of stories and samples that can be tweaked to fit any type of business. It did get a little boring at times but overall is worth the read.
It took me awhile to really get into this book; but once I did, I couldn't put it down. I wish all dogs could talk. I imagine they would think and say much of the same stuff in the book. This is a great, easy read and I'm so glad I didn't bail before it got good.
There's a saying that goes "Be the person your dog thinks you are". I immediately thought of that quote when I read this. This is how we should all be, it's what I strive to be and yes....I think this is how our dogs see us, even when don't see it in ourselves.
"To live every day as if it had been stolen from death, that is how I would like to live" .....
This 1 paragraph resonated with me on so many levels. I truly do want to live my life this way
I can't just read a informational book. I have to read one for fun too....
Getting ready to open my own business and I think this book will be full of good info 🤔
It took me awhile to decide on this book. It is very much like Twilight and I never did get into that series. As it went on, I found myself liking it more and more. Wow, what a cliffhanger at the end. I guess I'm just going to have to read the other two.
I really wanted to love this book, because...dogs! It was ok. It had lots of laughable moments with the stories of Exley's antics but overall it was just ok. The best part was the last chapter on friendship.
Being a huge dog lover, I'm excited to read this book.
So many people love this book, when that happens I usually end up disappointed because it doesn't live up to the hype. Not this time. I loved it!!
I've been meaning to read this for awhile now, it's been sitting on my shelf for a few years. If the rest of this book is as gripping as the first 20 pages, I won't be able to put it down.
I was pleasantly surprised with this one. It was recommended by the employee at the bookstore and not what I normally enjoy but I found myself really liking it. It really took a turn at the end 😜
"Relationships are never easy. Especially the ones we're born into." .....so very very true
If you like dystopia books you have got to read this. I'm not done yet but I need to hurry and finish it so I can be productive again....but at the same time I don't want it to end!
Starting this 1 today.
