Hello fellow bibliophiles! I‘m looking for some book blogs to follow. I never know what to read next, especially now that I‘m using the great world of Kindle and only going into a library or bookstore about half as much. Can y‘all help? :-)

I want to read a book about author J M Barrie. Does anyone have any recommendations? ☺️

Funny and a good break from all the serious books I‘ve read lately. I don‘t even have kids and I was laughing out loud! You‘ll enjoy it, it‘s definitely worth a read and perfect for summer vacation.

Truly haunting and poignant. This is a book of tragedy but in the end of triumph. It took me a while to finish because of how sad it was. It‘s a story that will stay with me for a while.

Even though there are interesting details in the history of the Chicago World‘s fair (basically the fair that started it all, that defined what we today call a fair) and the history of Henry H Holmes, I felt like this book was extremely repetitive. At the same time, it seemed like we never actually got to the point. I liked it in parts but mostly was a little bored.

Such an interesting read for the time period! Although Anne is often the overlooked Brontë sister, this book shows her powers of writing and her feisty personality. Lots of twists and turns, and in the end a very good moral. Very enjoyable.

A collection of short essays about the Brontë family and their history. This was enjoyable and educational, and a very fast read after finishing Jane Eyre recently. If you love the Brontë‘s this one is for you!

What can I say. It‘s my favorite book of all time. When I went around for my annual re-read, I was struck with how beautiful the story is, how excellent Ms. Brontë‘s writing is. I could read it again and again.

Such a trippy, crazy sci fi story. It really transported me to another world. I couldn‘t put it down, and I couldn‘t stop talking about it for days. The last few chapters were especially captivating. But I gave it a so-so because I felt the ending wasn‘t satisfying, and because I felt the writing wasn‘t the best in some places.

Such a fun book! I rarely listen to audio books, but in this case I did, and I‘m glad. It was extremely well acted. The story is enjoyable, but what I really found fun was the main character‘s love of books (and her love of life). It was uplifting. I‘d love to talk about the book, has anyone here read it?

Dark, intense, crazy, and captivating. I couldn‘t put it down!

Very interesting book! Handles the subject (the intersecting lives of Bell, Garfield, Garfield‘s assassin, and other important figures of the time) very well. Never felt slow, kept me involved the whole time. Would definitely recommend. Left me feeling like I really knew these historical figures and understood the time period at a new level.

The language in parts was lovely, very captivating. So captivating that I didn‘t really notice until I finished the book how much I hated the plot. But what I disliked most about this book was that it did not fit the time period at all. It felt like the agendas of 2017 had all been transposed onto an 1800s cast of characters. Would not recommend and would not reread. Only redemption was the excellence of the writing.

The perfect book for anyone who loves books set during the Victorian era. It‘s crazy to hear what life was like for women of the time. Very entertaining. A fun read that‘s written very humorously.

Rarely when reading a book do I laugh out loud. I may smile, I may think it‘s hilarious, but I don‘t usually laugh out loud. Not so with this book! It was fun AND hilarious and all I can say is now I want to hang out with Anna Kendrick and revel in the fact that our cars have keyless entry. Read this when you‘re having a bad week and want to laugh a lot.

Whoa. One of the most beautiful books I‘ve read in a long time. Simple in its beauty, pure in its plot. Docs friends want to throw him a party. But the underlying themes of friendship and loveliness in every day living were amazing. The last chapter describes one character cleaning house- and it almost felt therapeutic the way it was written. I loved this book. Excellent.

Tried to read this in High School, and though I finished the book I did not at all enjoy it. Like so many others I‘ve been revisiting, I loved it now. It‘s a poignant and darkly funny drama, almost heartbreaking. Some of the characters I loved to hate. Others feel so vividly real that I couldn‘t put the book down. Beautiful! I highly recommend this. Go back to the classics you couldn‘t enjoy before- slow down and see their beauty.

Loved this book, finished it last week. I‘ve really been in a Southern US literature mood lately. Anyone have any recommendations? ☺️
