As someone who used to read almost exclusively unicorn books as a pre-teen, this book evoked the same feelings all over again. The discovery, the heartache, the longing, the fantasy of it all. Lovely and sad and glorious. Bless this man and his writing.

I performed this book as part of a Forensics piece that got me into Nationals my senior year of High School. A delightful, dark and twisted alphabet by one of my favorite authors.

Laugh out loud funny, this book felt like sharing stories with a friend over coffee. Allie Brosh is one of those writers who has a great talent for wording things just right to make your drink threaten to come out your nose.

mrsh62010 I bought that with gift card for my birthday! Love it. :) 8y
Hornsby78 This book is HILARIOUS. 8y
AGirlAndHerBooks I've heard this is so hilariously fantastic. I really need to get to it... 8y

It's hard to believe the book could be funnier than the movie, but in some ways it is. While vastly different in some ways, it has the same charm and the same pull on your emotions that the movie has, just without the glory of the actors before your eyes. They're just in your head instead.

Reading with my son for the fall and remembering how much I loved these books as a kid!

CoveredInRust This series is fantastic! 😺 8y
Seekingtardis The is one of the first books I remember reading and I was so scared that liking vampires and creepy things made me "weird" but books like this made me realize being weird is the best thing in the world!! 8y

I love comics and this was one of the best graphic novels I have ever read. Give me a lying cat in real life, please?

BooksRockMyWorld Saga is amazing! It's out of this world! Deep, funny, colorful, edgy! One of the best graphic novels ever, imo. ❤ 8y
Librariana I am totally with @BooksRockMyWorld on this one and share her enthusiasm! 😊 I was blown away not just by the story and characters, but by Vaughan's creative mind to think of this world. Have you read his other project? 8y

If there was a way to express how much this book meant to my creative mind as a young girl, I would try. I owe so mich to these characters, this author. It has everything Lir could ever want, and makes me laugh, cry, sing, dance, look for secret passages and skeletons, and just in case, unicorns in the seafoam.

Lauren_reading I loved this book when I was younger!! 8y
readergeek @LaurenReads isn't it splendid?! And the movie is just a classic :) 8y
Wilkie I have not read it, but I saw the cartoon a million times as a kid! 8y
readergeek @Wilkie the movie is fantastic and I pretty much grew up watching it all the time. I think we took it out of the library once a month. 8y
Wilkie My little brother crept into my room every night and requested that I sing 'Now that I'm a woman' to help him sleep. ☺️💤 8y

It does not happen very often that a book has images that chill me but I want to keep reading anyway. Nor does it often happen that I look forward to a book to movie adaptation anymore. Both are true here. What a peculiarly delightful series.

Nothing like an irate wizard trying to stop seven catastrophies before lunch. And those are just the ones he knows of. While the next book gets written by its author, I'm doing a full re-read of the series and nothing says laugh out loud like Jim Butcher's Dresden Files.

The book that started a fantastic series, I fell in love with the girl at the boarding school. Now we have the fifth (!) book about to come out, and I know I need to catch up, but the first book that showed us Ancelstierre and the beauty and the danger of The Old Kingdom is one I won't soon forget. Methinks a re-read is in order.

MrBook Nice review! 😊👍🏻 8y

There is nothing not to love about this series. Laugh out loud at times, there is such good natured mythological hopping about that you just want to hug Atticus and give Oberon a sausage or five..

BooksTeasAndBookishThings I have been wanting to start this series! 8y

Immersive and very tempting to get drawn into, it was fantastical enough to draw my attention without being too ridiculous. The slang kept throwing me, I admit, but it was cute and quick and lovely.

MrBook I like the cover. 8y

First drop into a new world that had me feeling right at home since Dresden and Rachel Morgan. October felt like an old friend. Must read.

Very worth the read, with a twist that was as repugnant as it was satisfying. Can't wait to read the next one.
