"Teach her that the idea of 'gender roles' is absolute nonsense. Do not ever tell her that she should or should not do something because she is a girl.
'Because you are a girl' is never reason for anything.
Ever."

A fictional story based on true events, which plays in South Korea in the 1980's. A Beautifully written and heartbraking story!

I didn't like the writing style at all, it reads like a really weak children's book with an unoriginal story. It tries way too hard to be spiritual and "wise" and It felt really forced. I appreciate the idea behind the book, but that's not enough to like it....

I'm normally not a fan of contemporary romance, but I really wanted to read this book as 1 one our main character is selectively mute and the other character is deaf.
The story was simple but cute, A really quick read and book format was interesting (it also highlights when they use BSL.)
I gave it 4/5 ⭐

Currently reading The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami, and I must say that I'm loving it so far! 😺

Didn't enjoy the writing style and it was predictable for me 😓
I gave it 2/5 ⭐
I've decided to read more poems this year, so I picked Hold Your Own by Kate Tempest. One of the best decision! Beautiful and powerful! Most of the poems were inspired by the Greek mythology 'Tiresias' and the also contains poems about love, war and gender.
Highly recommended!!

It's a very short story , but it's also very impactful!

Got this book yesterday!
"The bodies fished out of San Francisco Bay were a puzzle, with no sign of how they had died. The toxicologist Caleb Maddox uncovers an unspeakable horror connecting them all, suggesting the work of a deranged kill.
But there's worse: he's starting to wonder if the mysterious beauty he has become obsessed by could be the link between victims."
However I could find good pieces of poetry in here, I was disappointed. I was excepting something more from such a hyped booked.
I would still recommend to read it, as it is many other people's favourite

Definitely an interesting / odd little book. The books has lots of metaphors in it, it is all about human (mainly Sofia's) relationship from a viewpoint of an anthropologist.
I would definitely recommend it, especially for book clubs.... i think it would be a good discussion 🙂

Great story with an amazing world building and with likeable characters.
Loves the references but at some point it was too much of them, but still very enjoyable!
Highly recommended! 😊

I wanted to love this book, but unfortunately I was disappointed. Nothing special, the story is alright, I'm not a big fan of the characters, and the love story just freaks me out. I will give another chance and I will read the 2nd book, but I will not rush to it.

Unfortunately this book was one of the big disappointment of the year. I started it with low expectations, and it could go lower. there were too many parts where I just rolled my eyes.... but I have to admit that I loved Scorpius 😊

I've never read any Stephen King books (as I'm not a fan of horror stories ) ..... until this year! This was a book club choice and I was pleasantly surprised! I thought I won't like it but I loved almost everything about it!
For me this was a 5/5 ☆read!
