Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – Parts One and Two (Special Rehearsal Edition)
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – Parts One and Two (Special Rehearsal Edition): The Official Script Book of the Original West End Production | J.K. Rowling , John Tiffany, Jack Thorne
Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany and Jack Thorne, a new play by Jack Thorne, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series and the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. The play will receive its world premiere in London’s West End on 30th July 2016. It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children. While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

Finally read this play and was very underwhelmed and unimpressed. It all felt very hasty, pointless, and lacking in character development. I did like some aspects of it, primarily the time traveling, but it‘s really not good. Honestly feels like a cash grab trading on a famous name. #catsoflitsy #kittensoflitsy #petsoflitsy #klausthekitten

#wintergames #the filthy animals #24B42020 Spent a great β€œday” reading these three from my TBR list. I didn‘t really enjoy β€œAn Anonymous Girl” - the story didn‘t capture me and the characters fell flat. I adored Alice in Wonderland, illustrated by Salvador Dali (simply stunning.) The Cursed Child was great and I‘m seeing the stage play in January so I wanted to re-read the book! What a great way to close out 2019!

Today was one of those very fantastic days, where real life is paused and a new, magical world awaits. We spent the majority of our day in a theater, watching Part I and Part II of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and it was exceptional. The stage design, production, and illusions were breathtaking. The cast disappeared, transformed, and flew, and the time-travel effects were a treat.

It‘s a really quick read that made me miss the length and detail of the original series. Entertaining but not a required read.

Super excited I made it through play #1. Super fun to see on stage with all the magic and clever theatrics. Also a great story about friendship and family and most of all acceptance. πŸ§™πŸ»β€β™€οΈLol and lots of people in costume representing their Hogwart‘s houses.

It‘s Harry Potter, so of course I‘m going to give it 5 stars. I have it tattooed on me so I have to stand behind that. Despite making me want to throw the book across the room at times, I actually really enjoyed it.

i‘ve heard terrible things about this one but that‘s never stopped me before lol maybe i‘ll treat it as a fan fic ? πŸ€” is this cannon? did anybody out there read or go see the play, if so, what did u think?

xicanti I read it and enjoyed it very muchβ€”but I‘ve never read any Harry Potter fanfic and I understand a lot of people‘s objections sprang from the play‘s similarities to some popular fic plots. If you‘re a big fanfic reader, you might see those issues more than I did. 3mo
IvoryLunatic I think a lot of people went into it with the wrong expectations. It‘s a play so there‘s no way to have the same details and writing style as the rest of the series. 3mo

"The Cursed Child" was okay. The plot was a little all over the place, but I liked the characters developed in Albus Potter and Scorpious Malfoy. I'd like to see this on the actual stage! Now that'd be cool!?

I didn‘t feel like this was official HP canon, but more like fan fiction. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Let‘s see if a second go changes my mind!

My husband Alex, who I have been with since the age of 14 (& we are now 27 and married!) organised tickets for us to see Harry Potter & the Cursed Child. Since Harry Potter was published, I fell in love. The writing, the characters, the events, the love story...the magic. Alex organised tickets to watch the theatre production and it was a masterpiece. I‘m so thankful for the authors & my amazing husband Alex for loving it just as much as I do πŸ₯°πŸ’•

In the Modern Fantasy novel you spend way more time in Harry‘s world. The book is seen more so in a script format and basically states that even things that are being done for the right reasons can still go horribly wrong. The book is a very good Literature circle group, kids can discuss in a small group format the book and how they felt about it. The UDL strategy is 3.2 and the ESOL strategy is 10. Teach think, pair and share strategies in

DrSpalding This description just not tell me that you thoroughly read the book, which I am sure you did. Wrong #.Scholastic is a High-quality website. 9mo

I‘m giving it a so-so because it‘s not really necessary to the Harry Potter world. I thought it was quite shallow compared to the other books, but that could be because it is a play. It just felt like a fan fiction instead of an actual Harry Potter.I did feel it is a guilty pleasure book where a part of me does like the book and did think the story was alright. I wish a novel version would be released instead of just the play.
