$15 book haul from today's Literacy Council book sale.

May not be for everyone, but I loved the way she paints pictures with her words. Sometimes disturbing pictures, but beautiful. An unhappy young woman chafing at the expectations and inevitability of her life, finding escape in an intoxicating but unsuitable partner. The evocative images of Delhi made me wish I had firsthand knowledge of India. Loved this.
