Pickpick

Recent imagery of thin ice shattering on Lake Michigan is what I would imagine glass soup as. I‘m still not sure what Leni meant when she holds up the sign to those at the funeral, or what Vincent understands it to be, but like all the Jonathan Carroll books I‘ve read, it was good, confusing, made me think and imagine the weirdest things, gave me weird dreams, and I really enjoyed the read!

Jonathan Carroll is so weird. Love his books though. I asked the librarian when I was checking this out if she‘s ever read any of his books. She said no. I said the best way I could describe his writing is like reading Salvador Dali in a novel. A bit of humor splashed in as well 😂 a toupee lifter!

FountainBookstore @GrilledCheeseSamurai Definitely one of my tops too. Not sure why he‘s not big here. He‘s massive in Austria. 6y
TobeyTheScavengerMonk Starting this soon! 6y
Kammbia1 @TrishB I have read four Carroll novels: White Apples, Glass Soup, The Land of Laughs, and my favorite, The Wooden Sea. He is able to combine surrealism, fantasy, and philosophy into entertaining and thought-provoking books. He is my review of The Land of Laughs: http://marion-hill.com/book-review-103-the-land-of-laughs-by-jonathan-carroll/ (edited) 6y
TricksyTails Welp, if both Neil Gaiman and the great @GrilledCheeseSamurai recommend it, then I definitely need to read this. 😁 6y
GrilledCheeseSamurai Great reviews, @Kammbia1 👍👍 6y
