I was so excited for October to start, I didn‘t pick my favorite read in September. I was on vacation for 2 weeks in Sept and did a lot of rereading. So I only read 6 new books.
The tagged is my favorite of my September reads.

Finally finished the 3rd book in the Julia Grey series and all I can say is finally!! Set in the Yorkshire moors, Julia follows Brisbane who has bought an old estate. The family who owned the estate still live there, so it‘s a bit odd. This book holds a lot of secrets and I don‘t want to spoil anything.
Really looking forward to picking up the next book!
This took me quite some weeks to finish. It is slightly different from the first two books in the series.
A bit gloomy. A mystery that was well-done but predictable nonetheless.
The ending was irritating and felt rushed.

This whole series was completely engrossing. I don‘t think I socialized for a couple weeks because I just had to buy the next in the series. The passion between Julia and Nicholas as they deal with love and finding independence is thoughtful and I found myself cheerleading them on the whole way.
There's a certain Shakespeare quote refererenced in the book and it's supposed to be all romantic and I would just like to point out three things: Hamlet was full of shit, the sun doesn't move, and things didn't work out well for Ophelia. I'm just being pragmatic.
This book has an annoying, dark and broody feel to it. I liked the crime parts, but the end irritated me. It is the most frustrating of her books. I liked the first two better.
The third book in the Lady Julia Grey series, and she has gone off to the North to find Brisbane and finally settle where their relationship is or is not heading. The setting of the moors added another level of gothicness to this series and it was well done. I enjoyed the relationship between the Manor house and the Village. Looking forward to the next in the series and where our heroine and her hero are headed next.
Book 5 for #14books14weeks
While this one #3 in the Lady Julia Grey series has some interesting characters the MC, Julia just grates on my nerves and I found myself rolling my eyes at her thoughtlessness.
Despite this updated cover it is not a bodice ripper. 😁
I don't cry often during books but this is my ultimate #grabthekleenex. I cried at the beginning and the end of this book for 2 entirely different reasons. This is book 3 of the Lady Julia series and was a pivotal point in the relationship between Lady Julia and Brisbane. #splashintosummerreads
