My best find at Baldwin's Book Barn, an old leather bound book containing Epictetus' Discources and Marcus Aurelius' Meditations. Publishing date says 1900. Only cost me $10, but I do need to fix the cover. The lady there told me exactly how to fix it though.

Meglet Can you share the secret? I picked up an old book of Shakespeare with a damaged spine a while back, and asked around for help, but even the local bookstore and library just shrugged. :/ 6y

speljamr @Meglet the lady cut and gave me a piece of thin paper that had fibers in it to strengthen it. She said you peel the leather part up with a very thin knife. Do it on both sides enough to slide the paper piece in on both sides. She said you could just use normal wood glue to bind it in there. It sounded like I'm going to have to do it carefully, but was doable. 6y
