This book does not provide enough information about the world, and does not explain why things happen. The characters are ok, but the MC has very few morals & ethics and no real reason to be so mean.
Sorcha and her new partner are sent to a remote village and learn that spirits aren‘t just changing, they are being called by corrupt people. They team up with the prince and heir of the old rulers, and rush to save the capital.

Quit 40 pages into it. I think most of the hype for the book is because Felicia Day has her panties wet over it and honestly, I should have known better. #dnf #fantasy #philippaballantine

Fast-paced, draws you in kind of read. The concept of the Geist as some sort of ghost/demon plays on the mythology of a lot of cultures and I particularly enjoyed this aspect of the world Ballantine is creating. The Active/Sensitive split of power is good, almost like two parts of something make a whole - another common theme in mythology and religion. I need to know what happens next so I'll continue the series.

Ok, fellow Littens, I have a problem. A serious problem. I started another series. Ahhhh...why?! Oh, and I'm starting at least one more series this weekend. Anyway, this one is really drawing me in. I like the Geist concept that's being developed. But still, another series.
