pickThis is the final volume and it‘s somewhere between a so so and a pick. The first volume was really good, and the second was even better. So I was really excited for the climax in this volume and it didn‘t...hit as hard as I was expecting. This volume was still good but for whatever reason the big reveal wasn‘t as good as I was hoping. Still a really well done graphic novel and would still recommend it to others if you like Hollywood noir style.
pickI binge-read all three volumes of The Fade Out yesterday and really enjoyed it. I wish there were more! The conclusion to the mystery was satisfying but not jaw-dropping. Overall I'd give the whole series a solid 4.5⭐️I really loved the artwork and the authentic 1940s Old Hollywood noir feel to it. Highly recommended! #graphicnovel #noir #oldhollywood
pickVolumes 1 and 2 were brilliant - tight, mean, twisted and labyrinthine in that way that good noir is. They were so good that I had really high expectations for the climax in volume 3. And it was good...just not as good as the first two acts promised. The resolution lacked the impact I wanted, though the whole series is still very much worth reading from start to finish.
