Snow-White and Rose-Red | The Brothers Grimm

Top 100 Children's Books Snow-White and Rose-Red The Brothers Grimm Snow-White and Rose-Red are two little girls living with their mother, a poor widow, in a small cottage. They are very good little girls, they love each other dearly, and their mother is very fond of them. Rose-Red is outspoken and cheerful and loves to play outside. Snow-White is quiet and shy and prefers doing housework and reading. One winter night, there is a knock at the door. Rose Red opens the door to find a bear. At first, she is terrified, but the bear tells her not to be afraid. "I'm half frozen and I merely want to warm up a little at your place," he says. They let the bear in, and he lies down in front of the fire. Snow-White and Rose-Red beat the snow off the bear, and they quickly become quite friendly with him. They play with the bear and roll him around playfully. They let the bear spend the night in front of the fire. In the morning, he leaves trotting out into the woods. The bear comes back every night for the rest of that winter and the family grows used to him. When summer comes, the bear tells them that he must go away for a while to guard his treasure from a wicked dwarf. During the summer, when the girls are walking through the forest, they find a dwarf whose beard is stuck in a tree. The girls rescue him by cutting his beard free, but the dwarf is ungrateful and yells at them for cutting his beautiful beard. The girls encounter the dwarf several times that summer, rescue him from some peril each time and the dwarf is ungrateful each time. Then one day, they meet the dwarf once again. This time, he is terrified because the bear is about to kill him. The dwarf pleads with the bear and begs it to eat the girls. Instead, the bear pays no heed and kills the dwarf with one swipe of his paw. Instantly, the bear turns into a prince. The dwarf had previously put a spell on the prince by stealing his precious stones and turning him into a bear, but the curse is broken with the death of the dwarf. Snow-White marries the prince and Rose-Red marries the prince's brother.

I think is my favorite a lot of the time because well people use to call me Snow White :)

I am not an author (nor do I pretend to write because I just can't - super huge respect for those that are) Anyway, I would like to read a story about a pair of French Bulldogs (JuJuB and Conor) and their adventures.. Maybe their quest for more food, or challenging each other to sleep excessively :)

jb72 I‘ve always thought that a book about my dog Scout would make a good children‘s book. His adventures on the farm. 4y
ElizaMarie @jb72 and my babies can join him and be all confused by all the wildlife (because they are kinda sheltered city dogs) Ha! JuJu experienced snow for the first time last year (I took him on a contract) and he was super confused by it. 4y
jb72 @ElizaMarie 😂 dogs are so much fun! 4y

ElizaMarie @jb72 haha! I am not a spongebob fan but I was born and raised a Disney Princess :) 4y
jb72 @ElizaMarie My kids watched SB. I watched Bugs Bunny and Disney as a kid (70s). 4y
ElizaMarie @jb72 I used to work in a children's psychiatric unit and the kids would like SpongeBobs but... they would mimic that laughter and it drove me up the wall. I was then known as the nurse that wouldn't allow SpongeBobs on my shift. Also there was some thing about ADHD and SpongeBob in a psychiatric magazine (which helped me justify the SpongeBobs ban). I grew up in the 80s, so we are talking Heman, TMNT, Jem and the Holograms

jb72 @ElizaMarie My daughter loved Barney. I was so tired of that song. 😳 My son loved Blues Clues. Kids are so funny about cartoons. 4y
ElizaMarie @jb72 I can get behind Blue's Clues. I thought it was super cute and very well done. Also I would love to see the kids at work scream “a Clue! A Clue!“ I love the whole interactive shows. My nephew likes Mickey Mouse ClubHouse and he gets up and dances the Hot Dog song :) 4y

Snow-White and Rose-Red | The Brothers Grimm
Pickpick

So, my nickname at a lot of my jobs has been Snow-White. Usually given to me by patients (so take that with a grain of salt). Another one of my favorites. Actually I love fairy tales in general actually. Anyway thanks again @jb72 for providing the link :) Will be revisiting the Disney movie soon :)

When I was a little girl, we had an illustrated collection of Grimm fairy tales, that I read over and over. I can still remember how lovely the illustrations were, though I cannot remember who illustrated it. I have no idea what happened to it once it was passed down to my sisters. I tried to find some images of it on Google for this collage, but was unsuccessful. These are images from Google. #kissfromarose #lyricalapril @Cinfhen

LeahBergen I was obsessed with this story when I was little. 😄 7y
