Welcome to Litsy!

I finished the final book in The Monstrumologist series yesterday. It‘s different and darker than the first three. Will Henry was 13 in book 3 and this one jumps ahead three years for one timeline and the other has WH at about 35. We don‘t get much about the three year gap between book 3 and 4, but WH has changed. I wasn‘t really surprised by that. WH experienced some shit by 13 that would change anyone. My first thoughts were that I wasn‘t ⬇️

The fourth and final installment in the monstrumologist series. A definite end to a very exciting story. It seemed as if the author just wanted to hurry up and finish the story. Not putting too much effort into the plot. And just seeming to want the series to be over and the story lines dealt with. Deciding to spin his main characters into mystery and hysteria.

The reading I did in the last half of the month was as nonexistent as I was on Litsy (sorry about that!). It was a crazy busy month and my reading time disappeared. I've been working so much lately that I haven't had the brain power to do much else.

But December should make for a calmer month and I'm looking forward to having more reading time and time for Litsy as well. I've missed being on here!

TFD tore me apart in unexpected ways. And I equally loved and despised it. Yancey created a unique, unforgettable connection that I don't think I'll ever experience again.

The story was intense in an almost subtle way. It wasn't until near the end that my feet fell out from under me. Perhaps I was in pleasant denial and so I didn't see it coming. Perhaps Yancey pulled me so far into the dark with them that I never stood a chance.

This book is slowly destroying my heart but I love it.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first three books in this series and have recommended The Monstrumologist to many. However, the finale just didn't do it for me; totally fell flat. It started strong, then was confusing (part of which I believe was intended) and felt incredibly rushed. Disappointing conclusion for this creative set of stories.
