I love everything Neil, but his short stories are one of the things he does best, in my opinion. My particular favorites were The Price and October in the Chair. Some of these stories were featured in other collections, but I enjoyed them all over again. My very own Black Cat obliged me with a photo for this review. 🖤😻🖤 #Lennox #catsoflitsy

Read this on our flight home from London (we scored an economy plus which made the long flight 500% more comfortable). I enjoyed it very much. Greta and her cast of characters were very likable. I wish there had been a little more of an intro to Greta before the mayhem struck, but other than that I thought it was a great story and am interested to see where the series goes next. Also, these HP Daily Prophet Vans might be the most comfy shoes I own.

This book is a wonderful read. I have many loved ones with different challenges and personally have anxiety issues. I feel like I learned so much about not letting the negative features define you and ways to better understand how these disorders impact ones life. I feel it‘d be extra beneficial to parents and teachers, but I definitely benefited from reading it. I also loved the personal interviews scattered throughout. #huey #lennox #catsoflitsy

Both of the humans in our house are sick, and the cats are taking advantage of all the sleeping and reclining happening around here. This book is fascinating. It was one of the summer reading options provided by my employer. Having several loved ones with brain differences, I really appreciate the connection between what can be considered negative traits to their equally if not more important positive counterparts. #caturday #lennox #catsoflitsy

Our new arrival requires some extra work, so I went to Pam for some advice. I hadn‘t read this book before and honestly think everyone that is going to or does own a cat should read it. I consider myself pretty knowledgeable in cat behavior and cat parenting, but I learn something (and sometimes many somethings) every time I pick up one of her books. Huey‘s also starting to relax a bit more, whether it‘s related or not who knows, but I‘ll take it.

This was between a so-so and a pick for me. I wasn‘t always crazy about the writing, I felt at times it hopped around a lot and was redundant. But the story was very interesting and the courage Hazel and her family showed by defying their mother was incredible. In other news, Huey chilled with me on the couch while I was finishing it this morning! Hopefully the first of many books he ‘helps‘ me through. #huey #catsoflitsy

Littens, it‘s been awhile, because of a kitten. This is Huey, we welcomed him into our home about 2 weeks ago and he‘s been quite a hilarious handful. At the shelter he was quiet, cuddly and calm; here he is anything but! We love seeing his personality come through, but it hasn‘t left much time for reading. Huey and Lennox are just starting to tolerate longer doses of each other. We are making progress! 🤞🏻#catsoflitsy #huey

One of my favorite things to research before vacation is finding reads that take place in the city or area I‘m visiting. I‘ve had this book on my nook for awhile and was heading to visit family in Seattle so I thought it‘d be a good time to start it. Little did I know that we‘d head west and drive past several of the other cities in this book. I heard about Dr. Hazzard on MFM and was so intrigued,I picked up this book. It did not disappoint. #MFM

“Choosing to lovingly care for her was like steering a plane into a mountain as gently as possible. The crash is imminent;it‘s how you spend your time on the way down that counts.” I really enjoyed the writing style, fell in love with the characters and cruised through this. I feel the Japanese Internment is a piece of American history that doesn‘t get the attention it deserves (I‘d learned more from George Takei than any history class I took). 😕

This will likely be one of the best books I read this year. I was amazed how well the families wove in and out of each other‘s lives throughout the entire 400 years / 824 pages of this story. That‘s no small undertaking. Some characters I loved and wished I could have followed them longer, some I disliked but they won me over later. Once I finished, I immediately looked up what other books he‘s written and can‘t wait to pick up another!! I ❤️ NY!!

I loved Lillian because of quotes like this one. Her wit (and courage) to say what was on her mind while still upholding proprietary was fantastic. I enjoyed her NYE antics more than the flashbacks, because she sounds like a hoot of an octogenarian, but her past was an important part of the story. I think it‘s time to admit to myself that I‘m not going to complete all my reading challenges this year.😢 I‘m 2 books short and don‘t think I‘ll have the time to get through. I completed and surpassed my #mounttbr goal and Goodreads challenge. One shy for #readharder2018 and one for #LitsyAtoZ. I think next year I‘ll take a year off aside from Goodreads. Part of what got me behind was wanting to read outside of my challenge lists. #lennox

I have mixed feelings on this. Was it an interesting take on vampires? For sure. Was I invested in the story and characters? Mostly. Was it disturbing to have the main character look like a child and act like an adult? At times. Did I get incredibly bothered by all the typos and grammar errors? YES. My first experience with Octavia; I‘ll definitely give her work another go, but I wasn‘t crazy about this. I expected more. #bowie #catsoflitsy

I‘m torn on this one. Did it hold my interest? Yes. Was I consumed by the story and couldn‘t put it down? No. Maybe I look for more thrill in my thrillers? I don‘t know, it just felt flat to me. Like I kept waiting for something big to happen and it never did. The concept was interesting and much of the setting was well described, but I feel like it could have been better. 🤔

With Bowie‘s company, I breezed through this inspiring book. Coelho definitely left his heart on the page here. Much of Eduard‘s story mirrors his own experiences growing up and being institutionalized. I‘m also here for any tale encouraging people to let their weird flag fly. #bowie #catsoflitsy
